In advance, I apologize for the Vanity Post - but I did want to take a minute to gauge Freeper opinion on recent developments. This thread is a bit long but please read it.
We've had the COVID-19 scare for quite some time now. It has had a negative effect on this nation, economically and socially.
Combine that with the recent rioting in many US metro areas (including mine - which has thankfully died down for now) and my question is this...
How do these things bode for President Trump and the GOP in November?
Do the American people rise up and say enough is enough? We need a strong leader to bring this nation back?
In the suburbs, do the soccer moms clutch their pearls and believe all will be well if they vote Dem or they suddenly realize that the rioting could take place in their neighborhoods or that they might have to cut back on soccer camp for little Brianna and little Jason because their husband is out of work?
Do blacks and Hispanics in the inner city suddenly realize that their Dem leaders have more or less tossed them over the side and decide to vote GOP - maybe not in overwhelming numbers but at a better rate than before?
Given the 24/7 media drumbeat has been "Trump Bad, GOP bad, white privilege bad", has the damage been done and we'll soon embark on a sustained period of Dem dominance nationwide?
I'd like your opinions.
Based on how Democrat officials have successfully used COVID-19 as an excuse to fustercluck the election process it may not matter. November 3 is going to be an absolute carnival of ballot fraud.
Voter theft, much more than issues like the riots (which normally favor Rs) is the biggest problem DJT faces.
Trump has handled major issues well as they arose.
Joe cowered in his basement, failing to complete cogent sentences.
I think BLM helped get Trump elected in 2016. These riots will give him a huge landslide. Democrats will cross over in record numbers.the lockdown only gave people time to learn about other news sites and discuss things among themselves.
Too many variables between now and November.
Dow nudged back up over 26k this morning if thats an indicator of Trump positives.
I hope it energizes the normal (Republicans) people to go out and vote in masse. I figure the dems can’t hate Trump any more than they already do. I’m hoping that biden doesn’t inspire them to vote, even with the new biden image that they have concocted.
The two crises of 2020 were engineered precisely so as to get rid of Trump, and for no other reason. They have made it so I will NEVER vote democrat for any reason, at any time, in any place.

That is always the case in Blue states but what about battleground states. That is where the election matters.
Depends on what trump does. If nothing, this will fizzle out and there will be some other manufactured chaos. If he kills a bunch of hoods the media will scream. It’s all theatre by the deep state.
Gun sales are up big time. Good for Trump.
There is a long time between now and then, and there will be so much more madness.
We’ve seen nothing. These people are as serious as a heart attack, and they are everywhere.
Yes. I think part of the “reason” for the riots is to provide cover for the upcoming voter fraud. If Trump’s opponent (we don’t even know who that is) wins 65% of the vote, the media will say it’s “backlash” because the virus and riots were handled so badly.
If we can block voter fraud, Trump wins this handily. People are angry at what is being done to this country and more and more people understand that the Democrats are the problem.
I’m betting that there won’t even be an election and the Dem’s will try to go to court to decide it. ANTIFA/BLM, et al will not allow the voting process to happen.
Look at the overwhelming demographic of folks working polling precincts: older folks. What are they going to do? Nothing, nor should they. Of course most of these problems will be in the Conservative areas. What happens then? The local and state leadership, in an attempt to secure and protect the voting process, put law enforcement or, maybe, the National Guard at all of them. Then what happens? Stacy Abrams, while she shovels food into her mouth, starts talking about voter intimidation and suppression.
As I just wrote to a senator, if people can protest in large groups despite the virus they can go back to work.
When folks here started worrying about CV and the election, I suggested that the election was far far away, and in this crazy year there would be many important intervening events between now and November.
That is still my view.
These days we have years of history in months—the crystal ball is very foggy.....
The left has maxed out their vote. Problem will not be Trump being reelected so much as the rats holding onto congress.
We got some great video of some protesters (no rioters here, they wouldn’t last long) a few blocks away from a large gunstore with a couple hundred people outside in line.
I wonder how many were first-time gunbuyers...
The outcome of the election depends on whether or not many people campaign for President Trump on their own. If too many conservatives are too cowardly to show their support, we’ll lose the election. And as we see in Democrat speech now, our rights will be violated for a very long time.
I find the fake news media has the first opportunity to mold people’s opinions about events. Its why they try so hard to create these false narratives about each event.
Later the real story gets out, a process that FR participates in.
By October the real story about the lockdown period and the current riots will be understood. GOP candidates will do just fine when the time comes as people will know that Trump and others were doing the right thing all along.
5 months is a long time, just keep working to get the truth out to everyone you know.
Joe has bended the knee to his black and Chinese masters, and pledged to turn the White House into a plantation—and to get down on his knees and pick cotton from the grounds.
