Hollywood actor Patton Oswalt has compared the violent leftist terrorist group Antifa to the brave troops who landed on the beaches of Normandy, France on D-Day during World War II to defend against the Nazi invasion of Europe. The Ratatouille star claims the heroic troops are comparable to Antifa thugs because the left-wing terror group's name is short for "anti-fascists."

My late grandparents were full-on liberals. However, Grandpa actually served as a member of the Allied occupation forces in Germany, deliberately choosing to waive his draft deferment when word reached the States about what the Nazis were doing to the Jews. He signed up to fight in the war, but both V-E Day and V-J Day came and went before his basic training was complete. Meanwhile, Grandma, raising my Dad and Aunt, was left with less than two pennies to rub together, so Grandma survived by baking an F-ton of goods and selling them to the neighbors until Grandpa returned home.
