Its just the flu, bro.
Most Freepers are religious. Almost all of those religions/denominations, when they interpret the Bible, call for at least Christian fellowship. For Catholics and Anglicans communion with God is a public event.
The point is that the atheist left has found something, a lockdown, that weakens faith. Individuals may say that their faith is as strong now as it was before Coronavirus. But in aggregate this is terrible for the faithful. The reason is that, in many cases, their own religious leaders are saying the benefit that God provides by having people get together at Church/Mass are being outweighed by protecting people from a stupid Wuhan Flu. If religious leaders think so little of church attendance then many will either fall away or fail to join.
In ancient Roman times Christian leaders were very willing to expose Christians to possible death by worshipping God. Where are the Christian leaders willing to do the same now?

“Kozak is not an actual person”
You may be right. “He” (it) does one drive-by post a day, with identical format to prior posts, and then disappears. A formula or macro inserts the number of deaths. The bot probably stole the FR identity of the real Kozak to make mischief.
“The churches are tripping all over themselves trying to prove how obedient they are to the State,”
Boy, not ours! We’ve been meeting for several weeks now. And we sing hymns - loudly - which we’ve heard we’re not supposed to do.
“Im constantly amazed at how people can be given in to fear.”
Truly. Even more amazing is how many (alleged) conservatives are buying into it. And on FreeRepublic, no less.
I attended a “drive-in” service last Sunday in Jacksonville. A pretty good crowd, all in cars, all spaced. Except for me - I sat in a folding chair in the front row (which brought concerns of a lightning strike, I’m sure). They had a small ensemble of keyboards, a drum set, a guitar, a bass guitar, an electric violin, and a few singers, all sitting on the porch of the church. Loudspeakers were used here, since it was a more remote location (the neighbors are all manufacturing entities, mostly closed on Sunday anyway).
It was pretty refreshing. They even gave out little “communion” kits, consisting of the wafer and grape juice (the ones with wine cost a lot more). Very interesting service.
Yea, but does it?
If religious leaders think so little of church attendance then many will either fall away or fail to join.
Then, what you're saying, is religious 'leaders' provide people with faith?
Are you sure that's how it works?
I am a lawyer, not a doctor.
This morning a gentleman came into my office in Campbellsville Kentucky. I have known him since I was a small child.
He had corona covid previously this year. He caught it when he went to Louisville to pick up his deceased father in law’s body. He came home and was found positive for Corona.
They sent him home. He never ran a temperature but was very sick. He stayed at home for 17 days. He never went to the Doctor or Hospital. He got well and is out running around. (In the interest of full disclosure, His brother in law who is younger got it and he is on a ventilator. They expect him to die.)
I don’t like my screen name anymore. Can someone tell me how to change it? (I do like Heinlen)
Kojak is pissing on the bodies of dead American soldiers.
Shame on you, Kojak.
So what this fearbro seems to be implying, is that Airlines that commission medical studies on a flu that affects their business, nullify that study.
By that same token, do tests on flu affect the medical/pharmaceutical business?
Travis McGee is a daily load.
Why aren't you supposed to sing hymns?
Too much breath being exhaled. I think it was/is a big thing in Kentucky. Our pastor in TN said he had heard about possibly not being able to. But we do anyhow. Imagine a rowdy, “Hallelujah!!”?
I will not render my breath to Caesar.
I'm a free born man of the USA.
Sing on, Madam.
Just send mail to Jim Robinson. He changed mine some years ago.
Youre lucky! In our diocese, were not supposed to sing or do such dangerous things as talk to each other after mass. Frankly, I suspect a lot of the priests are happy about this because they have been able to get rid of their paid music directors since theres no longer a choir. Its disgraceful.
What state do you live in?
Sounds like your those rules are Draconian — and in defiance of the Bible. It would be horrible to be in church and not sing, I think. The best thing ever is to hear a large congregation belt out all four parts of “Wonderful Grace Of Jesus”.
Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Ephesians 5:19
We believe that God tells us to obey the government — up to the point where it goes against God’s commands. The ministers I know are prepared to be arrested.
I live in Florida, and we actually havent been told by the state that we cat sing...the churches, not just mine but all of the mainline churches, are worse than the state in this case. Someone said that theyre all afraid of being sued. I guess thats possible, but just have people sign a waiver if youre worried about being sued. And maybe trust in the Lord a bit? He seems to be the last thing on their minds...
