Wonder what “domestic institutions” was Senator Davis referring to?

Last item: An ad for "Celebrated Turkey Blood Pills for Ladies."

As Nancy Pelosi always says, "What's that about?"

"From Washington: A Vote at Last on the Davis Resolutions – 2"

One key point to remember, when we see Lost Causers cackling about "Corwin, Corwin, Corwin", is: Jefferson Davis' resolution's where it all began -- these are the beginnings of Davis' conditions for keeping the Cotton South in the Union.
Later he will add more conditions, of which Corwin will be but a faint echo.

But in the end, none of these jury-rigged resolutions or amendments mattered, because Jefferson Davis will get everything he ever wanted to protect slavery in the new Confederate constitution.
After that, nothing the Union did would matter in the Cotton South.
