Chief Justice John Roberts told graduating seniors at his son’s high school that the coronavirus has “pierced our illusion of certainty and control” and he counseled the students to make their way with humility, compassion and courage in a world turned upside down.

“Humility. The pandemic should teach us at least that,” Roberts said in a seven-minute video message posted Saturday on the website of the Westminster School in Simsbury, Connecticut, where his son, Jack, is a senior.

Roberts didn’t talk at all about the Supreme Court’s hefty load of high-profile cases that include disputes over President Donald Trump’s taxes, abortion, LGBT rights and protections for young immigrants. …

Because judges are expected to comment publicly about active court cases. The author, Mr Bumble here, is a ass, a idiot.

Easy to have compassion when you get a weekly paycheck. It’s easy to be humble when you know YOUR JOB isn’t going away and your bills are paid.....

that the coronavirus has “pierced our illusion of certainty and control”

I'd love to know exactly what he meant by that.

I know it’s none my damned business, but this is a discussion forum... so here goes... I always think it’s weird when people (like Justice and Mrs Roberts) adopts a kid... and then enroll them in boarding school. It’s like, okay, 14 years was enough of this parenting kid, let’s outsource this thing. I mean, I get it that sometimes a rich, high-powered person lives in an area where the local school options aren’t up to their standards. But, come on, the Roberts live in the D.C. area. There’s certainly no shortage of posh day schools in that area.

“Others are suffering, too, and many will be for a long time. Those who have lost jobs or small businesses or whose hopes and dreams may be slowly drifting out of reach,” he said. Roberts said people they encounter even years from now “may bear scars you cannot see.”

So, where exactly do you see Justice Roberts suggesting that the Un-Constitutional orders shutting down our freedoms is acceptable.

I see this as awakening people to the sufferings of our Fellow Americans from liberal tyranny.

That’s just lawyer talk, meaning he hasn’t got a clue in the world, what he’s talking about.

Some justices participated from home, Roberts said, and he said someone asked him if his colleagues wore their robes. Roberts said he was left to wonder, “judicial or bath?”

maybe this explains your question about “illusion of certainty and control.”

With tuition at $63,000 a year—that’s a quarter of a million dollars for a high school education!

Like you, I don’t understand why parents send their kids away, especially in Britain when they’re just little kids. God only knows what goes on there. It could be a status thing or maybe he’s a handful at home. Odd.

So what they adopted kids. They aRe the parents. They decide how to best educate their kids. Just like home schoolers decide. The son went to a boarding school in middle school and Roberts talked about the parents tears when they left him and drove away. Then moved to High school like his friends.

Westminster has an excellent reputation. The kid probably needed to mature and buckle down to one day succede in an ivy league education.
