What many whom in some ways see political advantages to Prolonging the Shut down may not have considered:
1. Americans have realized they can work from home. Potential max exodus from urban areas where people are easier to control. Housing boom in suburban and rural areas as professionals leave crowded urban areas prone to public transportation and spread of contagions and higher crime. 2. Students are not being indoctrinated with the socialist propaganda at many government schools - Many families discover they actually like teaching their own children or would prefer private schools. 3. Due to federalist principles being executed from the POTUS, people see states that are thriving and vote their oppressive Progressive Representatives, Senators and Governors out.
The biggest intended consequence is that a year from now the grocery shelves will be bare and there will be millions of starving people.
That sort of trumps everything else.
Realize how much leftist will seize power during any given opportunity.
How little leftists actually believe in science.
Indeed that is a very real possibility (dystopia). Hoping that doesn’t happen. Not sure what I would wager though.
I am curious why you predict that; could you explain please? Thanks
Parents are seeing teachers treating minorities differently.Or at least perceive that to be true.
Also the campus vote campaign will be worthless for Democrats this year.
I work in the ag industry.
The supply chain is completely broken. Period.
Millions of chickens and cattle and pigs are being euthanized and disposed of at this very moment. It will take years to build it back up.
A fraction of the planting is occurring that takes place annually.
This is going to get ugly, fast.
But if we can save just one life from CCP virus, it will be worth it.
Did you bring enough of whatever you’re drinking for everyone?
See ya in a year...
Also the campus vote campaign will be worthless for Democrats this year.

Had not thought of that.
Because who needs to produce anything to have it to consume?
It’s all magic.
Working from home-how will that impact labor union membership?
We have a commercial orchard full of fruit (pears/cherries) and so do others around here...they keep growing. ..we can’t stop them...and our lessee has a fruit selling biz also (mostly online)...has had 600% increase this quarter.
I don’t recall any school shooting recently.
The coming 300% increase in shipping costs might put a dent in that.
‘Not trying to hear that’. Informative to hear from FRiends on the inside who have their observations. We need to stay prepared.
You can also explain the entire production chain for industrial food (restaurants, cafeterias, ...) that cant or wont stick to residential (grocery stores) production due to this 2 week at a time shutdown. Crazy but there are serious issues in the production food industry.
I like your tag line and agree that the consequences of this shutdown are yet to be felt.
Have you not seen the reports of TRUCKLOADS of “depopulated” cattle, pigs and chickens being dumped in landfills?
Vegetables being plowed back under because there’s nobody to harvest them or buyers for those that are harvested?
All of that is food that will never make it to a grocery store or your table.
We have an education system that is structurally modeled for the industrial revolution. There is no reason we can have online schools if not high school and under certainly at the undergraduate university level. All the subjects should have the best professors record giving their class - public library could proctor tests with current staff of libraries getting notrary republic certified. It would cost almost no money after the first year. A university education at no cost (maybe fee to take the tests so not waste peoples time) to any who can pass a very rigorous tests.
Lots of our current education system is just nationalized day care and a certain amount that isn't bad just have it be locally funded for the most part so kids can play sports that require school type resources.
I think some good lessons and geniue progess made in our civilization if we went to more people work at home and schooling at home. Not everyone but this one size fits all just makes it crappy for most. We can still have public schools they just won't be as crowded just like the roads.
Americans already work harder than anyone on the planet - maybe this can be used as an opportunity to work smarter in the future.
Plus I hate f*c*k*n* traffic!

I have seen reports of livestock (mostly pigs) being about a week away now from being euthanized but not actually happening yet. Here Tx the local livestock auctions have opened back up.
