Its just the flu, bro.
After seeing Fauci get questioned by Rand Paul it is clear that Fauci is well-spoken and intelligent. He also is very educated and experienced. For him to advise on public health policy as poorly as he has means that he is 1. evil, and/or 2. A Democrat stooge. I am glad Trump is downplaying his role and I look forward to his retirement in November.
Its useful to look at how CV has played out in Italy, South Korea, Spain, and other countries that seem to be further along with diseases progression. This CV is on the way out and any talk of second waves is overstated.
Basically the R0 for this must be overstated, probably by the same scientists who said 2.2 Million will die in the US, and this leads to a lower threshold needed for herd immunity. R0 is the average of how many people catch the virus from a single infected person, assuming everyone is susceptible. The effective R goes down as the disease spreads. Herd immunity threshold = 1-1/R0. Initially scientists said 60% of the population need immunity for this disease to go away, but we are seeing a rapid decline of CV in NYC and other places with only 20% possessing antibodies.
Looking forward to Governor Abbott opening more of Texas on Monday. When a larger state like Texas opens up and everything is OK it puts tremendous pressure on those left wing governors.
Well, Karen, I get that way when someone on a PUBLIC FORUM tells me what I can and can’t post.
Grow some skin, bish.
I didn't say you cannot post that. I just called you out for posting that.
Sorry if that made you uncomfortable.
Now drink that prune juice! You'll feel a lot better.
And, I posted FOAD.
You didn’t have to reply.
Only, follow instructions.
Is Northgate the Aubrey’s near Papermill, McKay’s, etc.? We don’t go in to Knoxville often so I’m not familiar with the different areas there.
And Aubrey’s has the BEST burgers!!
My wife ordered some off of the internet when all of the hoarding started in March as a whim. It said it would be delivered in late May. It showed up last week. Twelve of the smallest rolls you have ever seen. All embossed with Chinese writing. We laugh and say it is probably from Wuhan. $2 a roll. She got ripped off, ha. She thought it would be Charmin or Scott’s. Buyer beware.
“What more proof do you need? I know, you will point to study after study saying they are not perfect.”
No, I’d point to study after study saying they are WORTHLESS.
“I look forward to getting in the truck and driving cross country again.”
I drove across the country - Arizona to east Georgia - last week. Then flew home. I’m past 60. So is my wife.
That is the point. It isn’t that scary. It isn’t “JUST the flu”, but it isn’t a very deadly disease either! In Arizona, around 60-70% of deaths have been in nursing homes. Another 20% IIRC have been on the reservations, where obesity is nearly universal and many homes do not have running water.
And if someone isn’t coughing, the rate of transmission is very low anyways. It just isn’t that easy to catch!
I am waiting for the 2020 upgrade to that...the Chinaman says ‘Then the CDC makes them wear masks...like this!’
BTW, Vermont LT - I believe you should do whatever you feel is appropriate for your risk assessment. I sometimes lose my temper but I truly believe that if you think wearing a mask helps you, then do so. No ridicule or name calling. Do whatever you think is right and do so with my full support!
All I ask of others is that they allow me to do the same UNLESS there is very clear proof that I’m endangering someone.
“a minor inconvenience of wearing a mask”
It’s not about the masks; it’s about the power. Mask today. Forced vaccine tomorrow. Tracking your every move the next day.
Personally, being a frog in the kettle pisses me off, although some may enjoy it.
ENTERTAINING!
I picked up medication at a drugstore yesterday. I'd been there for a few minutes when I noticed I was the only person not wearing a mask.
I finished payment then asked the clerk, "Did I miss a sign that said the store required masks?"
She said, "Oh, I believe it's a requirement as of Monday by King County."
I looked at her then said loudly, "King County? Pick my nose 'til it bleeds!"
The store erupted in laughter. You may conclude King County is not held in the highest regard, especially where I live.
We're not all obedient sheep. You, of course, are the best judge for yourself.
Northgate in in Hixson, north side of Chattanooga on route 153. It’s a mall that, like many malls, is dying because the anchor stores are going away and the thuggish kids are taking over.
But there are a number of restaurants and stores out at the front edge of the parking lot - Aubrey’s, Logans, Arby’s, etc.
You have us confused with any number of RAT state governors.
Ping.
Excellent.
You say we should focus on how to prepare for future years - We do focus on future years. The key focus is how to make sure tyrants dont take away our freedoms every time an overblown virus comes along.
And to be clear - if this disease was 4 times as deadly I still wouldnt want any restrictions on healthy people imposed by the government.
Deaths AND new cases DOWN from last Friday...the downward trends continues...
