As the coronavirus death toll ticks up and some states ease their restrictions, a new study suggests that men might be more likely to leave their face coverings at home.
Men in the U.S. report less intention than women to wear face coverings, especially in counties that dont mandate wearing them, according to a paper authored by researchers from Middlesex University London in the U.K. and the Mathematical Science Research Institute in Berkeley, Calif. This, the authors say, suggests that making face coverings mandatory has a larger effect on men than on women.

Fear compromises your immune system...’they’ know exactly what they are doing.
Such a contradiction in such a short amount of time tells me that:
1) they dont know what the hell they are talking about OR
2) they have an agenda divorced from scientific research OR
3) BOTH.
Looks like we attended the same School of Logic. By the CDC reckoning, at age 65 with 3 "co-morbidities", I already have one foot in the grave with the other foot on a banana peel. I'm still not interested in living my life behind a mask that does nothing, allows virus particles to pass like mosquitos through a chain link fence, and restricts my breathing while fogging my glasses.
now its mask shaming
I won’t wear one on my own personal accord but it sure looks like masks are going to be required for some time to work in an office setting. They will become the equivalent of clothing, a social norm that must be followed.
JoMa
These people that refuse to wear masks are just puffing their chest and trying to declare they are macho men. Lol.
Here is why I wear a mask and how I decide when and where it is necessary:

This article explains outbreaks in a call center, a choir practice and a restaurant. Long but very informative so an intelligent person can make the right decision, if not for themselves, for others.
I’ve seen folks on bicycles with masks on...
“I too am senior (69) and I too rarely wear a mask and when I do it’s usually because I’m forced to.”
Ditto. A senior (71). I wore one once — to my surgeon’s office. Monday I have an eye doctor’s appointment and am supposed to wear a mask? WTF? How can an effective eye exam be given wearing a mask? It can’t. I may call today and cancel.
I dont get the aversion to wearing a mask.
Its just a mask.
Right. I was thinking an appropriate answer to libs screaming about us not wearing masks would be, “My body. My choice.”
He was young and fit and said “You dont want this”
Good Luck to you if you get it

I had COVID. My lungs are jacked up now.
Have to see a pulmonologist because my breathing capacity has been reduced from all the scarring.
Not could in my case...it DID.

A little more woke and less compliant or gullible overall on average too.
Symbol of oppression.
Are you talking in code are those real store names?
Smart & Final is a chain of warehouse-style food and supply stores based in California. I just looked it up :D
Appropriate for the times.
Isolated under the gaze of our tech overloads we’re gonna be needing a code for real communication, too!

The best advice from early on was that the mask will not prevent contracting cv19, but can help limit the spread if one is so infected.
Here is the bottom line from the link Snippy provided upthread to a rather scholarly article: "...do your part and wear a mask to reduce what you release into the environment. It will help everyone..."
Give that some thought FReepers; it is not a macho thing.
Here is said dumbass being called out for his lies:

That doctor never even tested positive for the virus. He admitted on Twitter he tested negative three times, but was “presumed positive.”
