never ate at one, was it good?
We used to love going to Steak and Shake when we lived in Georgia. My wife would always order cheesy fries with the vinegar/pepper sauce. They were open all night and we never went there before 1am.
Steak N Shake opened up a restaurant in Daly City (the adjacent suburb of San Francisco) in late 2016. The location they selected was so off the beaten path it was almost laughable, on a minor back road that most area residents wouldn’t have been able to find on a map. I assume SnS (or its franchisee?) got the location on the cheap. ~13 months after opening it was closed. Kaput. This is in town that is essentially fast food central where not one but two In-n-outs do gangbuster business. 2 McDonald’s, 2 BKs, Wendy’s, Carl’s Jr,, KFC, The Habit. Can’t remember a single one of them ever failing. Hell, even Jollibee the fast food joint from the Philippines thrives. Yet Steak n Shake picks a near-hidden location and fails. Poor management.
Never heard of it..............
Love Steak ‘n Shake. A Sad day. Our full service family restaurants seem to be hardest hit. We have devolved to fast casual standards and few know how to “dine” anymore.
Had a high school reunion last year. The Friday night was drinks at a local establishment. Around midnight, my friend whom I was staying with and I left and stopped by S&S on the way home. We laughed and giggled as we finished our staple late night meal. I was in high school again, just with that one action. I will have a big hole in my heart if they close permanently. They have the BEST orange freeze ever! It is a cremesicle milkshake. Ahhhhhhh!
Sounds like a real nut. Western Sizzlin’ is another struggling chain that won’t be with us much longer.

"Made to order" doesn't mean "wait for the cow to be slaughtered".
Freddy's is "made to order" and serves in less than half the time.
Always thought their burgers were fair but not amazing. Know people who like their shakes.
Aren’t they kind of known for their Cincinnati style chili-mac?
I’m not going to cry about it.
If covid19 is our WWII, I for one count myself as lucky.

Our Steak n Shake does a booming business 24 hrs a day
I’ve enjoyed eating at that chain in the past, but I eat different foods now that I’m older. Still sorry to see it closing locations.
He’s gonna burn then if he finds out that ours puts 2 cherries in the cup...
Maybe that’s why they are busy and McDonalds, Rally’s, and Burger King aren’t.
In any case, deport him.
I went into a Steak n’ Shake expecting a steak sandwich and found they only make hamburgers. Boring.
So what am I supposed to do with the unused gift cards?
The one in Santa Monica is very good. Great fries.
Really? Gotta try it out before it closes..
