A San Francisco law school, business owners and local residents are suing the city to force it to clean up the Tenderloin neighborhood alleging an almost 300 percent spike in homeless shanty towns, drug dealing and feces-covered sidewalks have made conditions insufferable.
The lawsuit, filed in federal court May 4 by a group of plaintiffs led by the University of California Hastings College of the Law, seeks a court order to stop the city from using the neighborhood as a containment zone for homeless encampments.
Open-air drug sales and other criminal activity, plus crowds of drug users and sidewalk-blocking tents, pervade and threaten the health and lives of all of the Tenderloins residents, the lawsuit reads. What has long been suffered in the Tenderloin has become insufferable.
The number of tents and makeshift homeless shelters in the 50-block section that more than 20,000 permanent residents call home has more than doubled from 158 in early March to 391 as of May 1, according to a survey cited in the lawsuit.
A city-issued report, meanwhile, found a 285 percent spike in the number of tents and structures in the neighborhood from January through Wednesday.

[[Ask the city if these drug pushers have a permit.]]
Actually it’s the city that is pushing he drugs- giving the addicts free pot and stuff-
In case people dont believe you:
SF confirms it’s giving drugs to homeless in hotels in ‘limited quantities’

Ah. A family portrait.
We need Gavin in there, too, as he’s a Pelosi.
The city may be giving them the drugs but according to the article they are drug dealing (selling)
The virus is real and yes you are right the homeless should be stacking up like cord wood. What has been greatly exaggerated is the lethality. In the case of the homeless
it seemed they are a perfect target.
I used to think CV19 would rage like wildfire in that population group till it dawned on me. What do the homeless do? They live outside ie: UV exposure in the form of sunlight.
What does UV exposure do? It boosts the level of vitamin D in the blood which is vital to your immune system.
Coupled with probably a lot of walking when they aren't passed out drunk or stoned they get a fair amount of exercise. Consequently their immune systems on average are probably pretty good drug & alcohol abuse not withstanding.
I tried to posit that on Nextdoor. Should have seen the Schiffstorm. “Oh no we are all going to die” “The gubmint will save us” “Help us massa”
Most San Franciscan liberals are too stupid to live.
“A San Francisco law school, business owners and local residents are suing the city to force it to clean up the Tenderloin neighborhood alleging an almost 300 percent spike in homeless shanty towns, drug dealing and feces-covered sidewalks have made conditions insufferable. “
And they all voted for it, to ‘teach Trump a lesson’ in 2018.
“Social distance and face masks my ass, how come they dont wear them?”
They are exempt. I kid you not. A tent is judged sufficient to Shelter in Place. Social distance in a tent my azz.
thanks- Nope- I wasn’t lyin- the city really is pushing drugs- some might say- we’ll they are giving it away and aren’t profiting’ but where is the city getting the money for the drugs? Yup- from taxpayers-the city is making money off of drugs-
If the virus was real, the homeless would be dropping like flies.
How do you know they aren't? Who is going to notice or care about a few hundred or thousand dead homeless people when you have as large a homeless population as many Californian cities?
