The transformers are actually purposefully mounted with bolts designed to break in a way that will drop them to the ground if a pole is shaken with enough force. A neighbor of ours hit a utility pole driving home drunk for the umpteenth time. He ended up with serious injuries partially because transformers fell onto his car. He got an attorney who “proved” that the transformers fell off the pole with less force applied than what should have caused them to drop and contributed to his injuries. So our drunk driving deadbeat neighbor received a multimillion dollar award for driving drunk again.

If he had been a ground beef he probably would have completed the circuit and been electrocuted.

Or as my gramps would say:
"Bull's bid to scratch 'itchy bum' cuts off power to 800 homes". Managed to steer clear of udder disaster though likely to remain the butt of some jokes as people milk it for what it's worth"

Limousin bulls usually weigh 2200 pounds or a bit over.
If I was a power company pole and had a long ton of bull ass rubbing on me, probably on a daily basis, I would probably drop a load too!
