A Southwest Airlines jetliner hit and killed someone as it landed at Austin's main airport Thursday night, authorities said.
The Federal Aviation Administration said the pilot of Flight 1392 reported seeing a person on the runway shortly after the Boeing 737 touched down at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport at 8:12 p.m. local time.
The carrier said the pilot maneuvered to try to avoid the person, whose identify wasn't immediately released.
The driver of an airport operations vehicle subsequently reported finding the person on the runway. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services said its personnel pronounced the person, an adult, dead at the scene.

This wouldnt have happened under 0bama.Maybe not, but there are probably people out there (not naming names, mind you) that might have wished for a different sentence construction using the term 'under' and '0bama.'

A Being 737 at 170 mph is not going to leave you in pain for very long.

With the COVID restrictions, a drive into Gibraltar was not an option.
RIP
What kind of unfortunate and/or desperate situation ends this way. And then the pilot has to live with it. Just doing his job, landing a plane, and..

At least this time he might have had an excuse for not hearing any instructions to stay clear of the runway, as shouted from the tower.

Nice change to the “suicide by cop” method. Suicide by pilot.
A little evasive action is fine but if I’m a pilot, I’m not going to cause a greater disaster by trying to swerve the plane. When you have to make that split-second decision, sometimes just plowing through what’s ahead is the only logical choice.

We laugh at this - but an unauthorized person on the runway (no ID, apparently not an airport worker)0 is a blatant breakdown in airport security and, worse, could be easily exploited by terrorists.
