Panic and the dangerous lockdowns

People who are drowning are fighting for their lives. Because of exhaustion or lack of swimming ability, they're sinking under the water and getting farther away from the air with each passing moment. Such unreasoning fear sets in that they begin flailing around wildly, trying to grab anything they can find to pull themselves back to the surface. That unreasoning fear and resultant flailing around are called panic.

(snip)

You never approach drowning people from the top of the water. Instead, as you get near them, you dive under the water at least below their waistline; turn them around so they can't reach you; "crawl" up their body from behind; then throw an arm over their shoulder, bump your hip into the lower middle of their back to raise them up, and start side-stroking back to the shore or the side of the pool.

Rest assured: they'll be fighting you all the way, because even though you've got them up to the surface, where they can breathe, they're still in panic mode and will be for at least several minutes. It takes people a while to calm down and return to normal. It's nothing against anyone; it's just human nature.

(snip)

That state of panic and unreasoning fear is the real culprit behind allowing governors and mayors the illegal, unconstitutional, and unbiblical authority they've claimed to quarantine the healthy, define what is essential and non-essential, arrest people...

I don’t think the leftists locking down the economy are panicked even though I do think they run mainly on emotions. I think they got a taste of power and wish the illness was worse so they could wield even more power on the subjects that they hold in contempt.

'Panic and the Dangerous Lockdowns'

Hey, that would make a great band name. Watch someone steal it.

at the root, it seems you are saying they are coming from a self-focused point of view.

That to me is the difference in those who truly believe in God/Jesus or not.

So many people want to not talk beliefs and instead argue over politics or people doing certain things when really it all roots back to do you believe in biblical God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and letting God rule/lead in your life, not just selfishness.

Yeah, I figure they’ll have a rockabilly/punk sound, like a cross between Oingo Boingo and The Blasters. (I saw a Blasters concert clip once, and they had a Gadsden flag hanging up behind the drummer. Good lads.)

"...really it all roots back to do you believe in biblical God, Jesus and Holy Spirit and letting God rule/lead in your life, not just selfishness."

At its core, secular atheism is the worship of the god of self. This is why the left pushes moral relativism. Without the resort to an objective, unchanging moral authority (i.e. "God"), a secular atheist can rationalize any action they deem desirable, regardless of how morally repugnant or simply illogical it may be.

The strongest defense many on the left can proffer for any position really boils down to, "because I said so." If you accept my initial contention that this is about the "god of self," it's really no more coherent an idea than the theory behind the divine right of kings, and in many ways, even less so.

Yes, I guess it is coming from a self-focused point of view. They think the world would be better if it were ruled by a handful of elitists which they belong to. Like they were a god.

The utterly corrupt media deliberately whipped up panic as part of their continued jihad against a Trump. Make things look bad, make everything Trumps says or does look bad and if these lockdowns lead to economic collapse all the better as we will hang that on Trump as well. The Chinese Communists took their disaster in Wuhan as an opportunity to bring down the American economy and found willing partners in the US media to whip up continued hysteria with false reports and propaganda. Some governors used the panic to create dictatorial powers and virtual totalitarian states. However the American people are now coming out of their panic.
