To all people with common sense, who have watched events unfold over the past two months, and have made the attempt to read and inform themselves, carefully weighing data, and keeping an open mind, only to ultimately conclude that COVID-19 is not the Black plague, or even a Screaming Blue Meanie, and are mad as hell about it!
Mad about the inaccurate predictions. Mad about massive government overreach. Mad about the scare tactics. And most of all, mad at the easily manipulated sheeple and the naked attempt by politicians to use this flu as a last ditch attempt to defeat Trump.
So here's a way to be heard. Every night at 6 pm, let's open our windows and give a round of applause to the one Western nation that didn't reflexively join the wild herd. The one country that ignored all the noise and used their own judgement.
Sweden will be have the last laugh on all the masked doomsayers. Until they let us go back to living our normal lives, I consider myself to be an honorary Swede!
“When did NYC start sanitizing subway cars? Do you know?”
Like two days ago.
Why do you ask?
Don’t be coy or clever. It can lead to misunderstandings.
If I own a dine in restaurant, I would just close it down for 2020 and then reopen either in 2021 or 2022. If we survived the Great Depression, we will survive this. Consumer confidence is key here.
Speaking of stupid, since you like to play with numbers:
Sweden = 262 deaths per million
Spain = 537 deaths per million
Italy = 475 deaths per million
France = 369 deaths per million
USA = 202 deaths per million or a lot more
Or a lot less, depending upon where you live
etc
etc
etc
Some of those countries are counting all deaths as they are Covid-19.. Some are heart attacks flu car accidents..
Because Wyoming was better than Sweden! And Wyoming followed the federal social distancing guidelines.
This too shows limiting the comparison to lockdown or not commits the fallacy of too few alternatives.
Look at post 23. Read through the thread before jumping straight to personal insults.
I repeat, your post #2 is worthless.
What?
You paid trolls hang around FR all day so you can pounce on any OP about how well Sweden is doing by cutting and pasting the same already prepared deceptive garbage figures every single time?
Is that it?

No we are talking 10 years maybe.. Besides what if the Dems take over in the fall. What then? In the 30’s we weren’t in debt for 100’s of trillions of dollars...
Yes, it absolutely is a given because the survivors have antibodies and even if they later catch a different strain the antibodies they have will make that other strain less severe.
So yes, we do know that.
If Democrats take over in the fall, we’ll see Tea Party Movement II emerge.
NYC elected him. He tweeted that everyone should enjoy the parades and the NYC health commissioner said “don’t believe corona virus misinformation”.
Florida got the majority of their corona cases from NYC!
BTW do you know when NYC started sanitizing subway cars? Last week Wednesday. That is BrainDeadStupid.
Lockdowns and social distancing did not make a consistent or significant difference in deaths per million or Sweden
Logical fallacy; too few alternatives. There are way more variables than just social distancing. For instance there just as large variables between countries that did social distancing. Why is that?

Learn what significant means.
You almost made a point. Not an important one. A word game one, necessary for scientific articles, but serving avoiding the issue in informal conversations.
To be clear no conclusion can be made that Sweden’s policies increased its death per million compared to countries with differing policies.
No conclusion can be made that lockdown or social distancing decreased deaths per million in any country.
“There are way more variables than just social distancing. For instance there just as large variables between countries that did social distancing. Why is that?”
Yes.
But that’s not the topic. The question is are the claims Sweden got hit worse due to her policies true?
The answer is a resounding no evidence supports that hypothesis.
Where you have evidence that it’ll go away in the summer? Ecuador is a hotspot even though it’s a tropical country in the Southern Hemisphere.
So can I fly safely to Sweeden and once I get there do anything I want? I need a vacation from this Government imposed, self flagellation. It would be so nice to spend the day pouring a cast at a hippy co-op foundry and afterwards cuddling with my distant relatives on a bear rug after a soothing lutefisk dinner.
How much worth does your post 50 have?? Don’t be so emotional!
Sweden takes in more immigrants, particularly “refugees,” than these other Scandinavian countries.
Perhaps they have come to realize that they have taken in too many and their attempt at herd immunity is to cull part of the herd.
Perhaps many in Sweden would say that they are indeed winning, but winning a different game altogether.
LOL! You agree that there are more variables. Then you still limit it to one variable, again committing the logical fallacy too few alternatives!
Done talking with you.
