Italian scientist says she discovered main mechanism behind COVID-19: Annalisa Chiusolo shows how controversial drug Hydroxychloroquine could make people immune to virus

COVID-19 damages the hemoglobin, impairing the ability of red blood cells to transport oxygen throughout the body, compromising the lungs and resulting in Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS), Italian pharmacology scholar Annalisa Chiusolo explained to The Jerusalem Post.

If her thesis is correct, it would resolve many outstanding questions about the novel coronavirus, such as the greater vulnerability of men – specifically male diabetics – to become seriously ill from the virus, as well as the lower rate at which pregnant women and children contract COVID-19.

Moreover, understanding this mechanism could lead the way to a quicker discovery of the most effective drugs to treat the virus.

Chiusolo is a graduate of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Perugia, Italy, and works as a pharmacist in the European country. Her theory has been published by some of the country’s leading newspapers, including the Italian dailies Il Tempo and Il Giornale.

She told the Post that SARS-CoV-2, the formal name for the novel coronavirus, needs porphyrins for its survival – and probably for its replication – so it attacks hemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in the blood, which translates to less oxygen available for the body. The consequence of less oxygen is the accumulation of carbon dioxide.

“The lung cells become the site of the cytokine cascade, an enormous immune response, which is responsible for the acute lung inflammation that characterizes COVID-19 pneumonia,” she said. “The value of hemoglobin in the blood can be an important parameter to assess the SARS-CoV-2 infection: In men the normal value of hemoglobin (Hb) is higher than in women. This would explain the higher incidence of COVID-19 pneumonia in men compared to women, and the lower incidence and better prognosis in children and pregnant women, where Hb values are lower

Meantime....

Boris Johnson names newborn son after doctors who saved his life

Boris Johnson and his fiancée honored two doctors who cared for the British prime minister by partly naming their newborn son after them.

Carrie Symonds, Johnson’s fiancée, announced their child’s name, Wilfred Lawrie Nicholas Johnson, in an Instagram post on Saturday.

Wait, what??

I was expecting to see Donald or Trump as one of the baby’s names.

"OANN had a female doctor from Florida on a few weeks ago - she explained it all very well...perhaps this Italian “discoverer” saw the broadcast..."

Perhaps. I know it's not the first time I've read it.

Preaching to the choir. Given the speed with which the IC produced the 9/11 terrorists’ images, it is clearly a lack of will to trace the source. Now that we know that the virus has an incubation period of up to a month, it becomes clear that the “14 days” was disinformation to mask the source. By that time all the ‘agents of spread’ would have disappeared, either returning to China or otherwise, infected themselves or otherwise asymptomatic.
I’ve never read anything that such Chinese-origin contact tracing ever took place. The assumption being that the cases innocently-arrived in the U.S. - albeit almost simultaneously in every state - as was then-first-known case in Washington state.

We now know differently, that cases were in the US who died in early February, pushing back the envelope of exposure to the period under which China was still denying a problem, possibly before they even confirmed such to WHO in December.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that the CCP wouldn’t hesitate for a second to sacrifice a few million Chinese to fast-track their plans and achieve a little payback against their nemesis, Donald Trump.

But that’s just the outline of my speculation dating back to January when I mistakenly-hypothesized that the virus favored Asians only, that it might have been the CCP’s way of destroying the Hong Kong movement once & for all, eliminating any uprisings elsewhere at the same time.

The virus clearly favors the elderly, diseased/infirm; I don’t believe that is a coincidence. But our government won’t let this crisis go to waste any more than the CCP...

Wonder how different things would be if HCQ cost $1000/pill and still had a patent.

Remdesivir, which isn't in hospitals for a few more days.

Let's hope it works.

Ok I looked that over and while interesting there is no "EME" or ecgonine methyl ester enzyme. I have a feeling someone did a bad italian / English translation?

That ecgonine is only found as a metabolite of cocaine so that's confusing.

Yep - they had her on twice, a couple days apart...she also described how the action of the virus to reduce efficacy of red blood cells to handle Oxygen caused the body to respond in a way that ended up making the blood “stickier’ and was why a number of sick folks end up with blood clot related issues too....and how HCQ therapies (with zinc, etc.) worked to prevent the gamut of what the virus does.

You know, I heard on radio last night while trying to sleep, that the company (Gilead?) that makes Remdesivir is making the first millions (can’t remember the number of millions) FREE. I haven’t heard anything this today.

I don’t know about Gates fingerprints on denial, but he is helping finance 7 different vaccine development efforts. At this point we don’t know if a Covid vaccine will be an infrequent shot like tetenus or annual like flu. A low cost at home treatment like Dr. Vladimir Zalenko’s must scare the stuffings out of big pharma. I checked the cost of his 5 day treatment for the costs of HCQ and zinc, and it came to around $4. He was also recommending the antibiotic Azithromycine to prevent follow-on bacterial lung infection. I read a March 27 article where a spokesperson for DC’s United Medical Center said, “Many...individuals reporting to the ER are actually testing positive for MRSA...” I Googled whether Azithromycin is effective against MRSA and found that it has positive effects. A quick Google search showed a packet to treat by Dr. Zalenko’s regimin at 9 common suppliers ranging from $9.56 to $16.04.

I do not plan to be part of herd immunity until some reasonable treatments are developed. President Trump apparently heard about Dr Zalenko’s success with Hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and Azithromycin, after the doctor sent him information on March 21 and April 12. Unfortunately he must not have read any details because the doctor writes the HCQ opens up the cells so zinc can get inside and discourage Covid from reproducing in the cells. TRump kept repeating HCQ, but was not mentioning the zinc. Now there has been a government study of HCQ at VA facilities. It has not worked very well so this study is being used to prove that low cost HCQ is not effective even though the essential zinc was NOT used in the study. So if I got Covid it would be hard to get anyone to treat me with the HCQ, although taking extra zinc on my own might help a bit. I wonder why Dr. Fauci does not know about the zinc, or is he being discouraged by Big Pharma from mentioning it so low cost HCQ will NOT gain favor. Apparently the new drug Remdesivir seems to help a few severely ill patients, whereas HCQ/zinc is highly successful in outpatient (at home) treatment. The big cry is for vaccination, but we don’t know if it will be needed every year like flu, or a lot less frequently. Some effective at home treatment might be a lot easier and less expensive way to go, but the people who make money on new drugs and vaccines won’t get megarich that way.

After 2 months of Covid study I have come to the conclusion that many are suffering from sub-clinical deficiencies in a number of important vitamins and minerals. Specific for Covid seems to be Vitamin D, Vitamin C, and zinc. Many people are deficient in zinc, and when ill it is used up fast. https://internetprotocol.co/hype-news/2020/04/14/a-detailed-coronavirus-treatment-plan-from-dr-zelenko/

Regarding the cytokine storms and lung destruction, Vitamin C is important to the health of immune system macrophages M1, M2, and Mres and high C is important with acute infection. M1 secrete proinflammatory factors, M2 are considered anti-inflammatory, and Mres secrete a lot of anti-inflammatory cytokines that prevent inflammatory and autoimmune pathology. They also secrete lipid mediators that play critical roles in resolution of inflammation. Vitamin C deficiency worsens inflammatory response with various viruses. I hope I have interpreted this long technical article accurately: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4175383/

Regarding the latest alarming news of microbleeding throughout the body post Covid infection. It appears that Vitamin D may play a role, and I suspect C would also. Specifically low D seems to be linked to a high mean blood platelet volume which increases risk of heart problems. When the body is producing high platelet volumes it also produces larger platelets. These can more easily block blood vessels and produce clots, including “Covid toe” and small vessel blockages throughout the body. https://www.nutri-facts.org/en_US/news/vitamin-d-deficiency-may-be-associated-with-increased-platelet-v.html

Several of these articles also pointed out that there seemed to be little troubling impact from very high doses used for less than 8 days, but that careful supervision should be used from 8 days onward. Dr. Zalenko’s regimen was for high doses of HCQ, zinc, and Z-Pac for five days. If I were treating someone I would throw in high C (http://www.doctoryourself.com/titration.html) and D, and taper the C off gradually as certain important enzymes need to reconstitute after very high C use. Vitamin C deficiency is scurvy with bleeding gums, bruising, and worse. Basically the tissues fall apart, the blood vessels leak, etc.

This article refers to Covid attacking heme within the red blood cells. Since HCQ allows zinc to enter the cells and stop the virus from reproducing, this would help protect the RBCs. Some residual zinc in the patient might be available to do this, but so many people are low on zinc stores that the extra zinc Dr. Zalenko gives would really help a lot more. I hope I have interpreted some of the complex scientific articles accurately. Happy reading!

RE: They aren’t hurting me and I’ve taken one every second day for two months and had in the past taken plenty in the Congo and Sierra Leone etc

I have two questions:

1) How many mg. of HCQ do you take a day?

2) How do you get it without a prescription?

I think the micro-blood clots could be a sign of Vitamin C factors deficiency. Scurvy causing breakdown of cell walls of small blood vessels and subsequent leaking and clotting. Also the possibility that blood platlets are increasing in size as excessive amounts are produced, making clogging of small vessels more likely.
