Video Here. UK police are looking for a walker dressed as a 17th Century plague doctor during the coronavirus lockdown.
According to local media, people in Norwich have spotted the mystery person dressed in a long black cloak, hat, and pointed beak-like mask.
The filmer, Jade Gosbell told Newsflare: "I just couldnt believe it. It was 20 degrees and some guy was just walking around head to toe in a huge black plague doctor costume with a mask covering his face. I just thought it was ridiculous as he must have been so hot, so just be getting some sort of kick out of it?
"Its caused a bit of a debate in where I live as people think we should just leave him be and let him have his fun however hes also scaring people.
"My mum has a phobia of masks and it makes me angry thinking about what if she bumped into him in the street? She'd be petrified!"
This strange footage was captured on April 24.

I’m planning on doing that as a social experiment here in Chicago. I can’t wait to see how it goes.

I was looking at plague doctor masks on Amazon last night. They sell them for Steampunk cosplay. During the plague, the doctor would stuff the beak with herbs, spices or dried flowers to keep the stench away. Men and women in the Georgian, Edwardian and Victorian periods used vinaigrettes, little boxes with a wet sponge inside that they could sniff to prevent fainting and to counteract bad smells.

"This story says more about the cops in England than the person dressed up."
I don't know what the problem is. People in England dress up in period costume all the time as part of their jobs, or to take part in historical events. If I saw someone dressed like that walking around in the UK, I wouldn't think anything of it.

He's wearing a mask and practicing social distancing. What's the problem? He's making a mockery of it. Not allowed.

The "herbs, spices or dried flowers" were because of the belief that "bad air", (mal-aria), was the vector of the disease. And when you consider that EVERYONE stank, because they could not or would not bathe, brush their teeth, wiped with their fingers, ate off the table...
Today's mask fetish and the goofs that believe they are protecting themselves by wearing them, however...
(Remember. Masks are supposed to be protecting OTHERS from you!

If you’re “creepy” they will arrest you. (Creepy has no legal definition, so the arrest is invalid.)
Why were the police called? Oh, I forgot. The police are to enforce social conformity, not to stop crime.
My mistake.

I wonder if Trump’s C-Team had ant medical historians on it. If it didn’t, it should have. They did more things right back then than we have.

One thing about the past is that it was harder to survive if you were an absolute nincompoop, like the woman quoted, who gets into a tizzy over the non-occurence of something just dumb.
