BURLINGTON - Burlington Mayor Jeannie Hefty has asked residents not to attend a Re-Open Burlington rally planned for Saturday.
The Re-Open Burlington campaign is planning a peaceful protest on Saturday in Echo Park from 2 to 5 p.m.
**SNIP**
The Burlington Police Department plans to be present on a standby basis in order to assist the organizers of this event with their plans for an orderly demonstration, the mayors office stated.
The description of the Facebook event promoting the rally reads: This is a rally to get our mayor to allow small businesses to begin to open in Burlington. Bring respectful signs, American flags and wear attire either from your favorite Burlington businesses or red, white and blue.
The cover photo of the Facebook page is a sign that says: My rights dont end where your fear begins.

Mayor Karen
Burlington where?
Wisconsin.
VT, NC, WI, IA, MA . . .
Why not just have the po-po make sure the various individuals and families wear masks and physically distance from each other?
Maybe because it’s not about public health?
Yep.
Psssst - it was included in the title.
Thanks
I was out in a park today and came across our mayor (in IL, not far away from this bag) who was out with her grandkids. No masks no nonsense. Officially she’s going along with the Governor’s mandates but isn’t imposing any of her own and as a former small business owner I’m sure she would be the first to want to open back up.
But, we’re all sheeple now. Starting tomorrow, if I want to get into Walmart I have to wear a mask. Never mind that the peak has passed. Just because Gov. Pricker says so.
Thanks. I think someone added it in later for clarification—wasn’t in the original post title.
