Andrew Cleckley Funeral Home was overwhelmed and ran out of room for bodies, which were awaiting cremation, and used the trucks for storage, a second law enforcement source said Wednesday.
At least one of the trucks was unrefrigerated, according to one law enforcement official. One source said the bodies were put on ice.
The Department of Environmental Protection issued two summonses to the owner of the funeral home for a foul odor.

Why did this funeral home agree to accept this many bodies?
A stiff thaws in Brooklyn.
Probably required to accept
Depends on where you are from.
Where I grew up, most definitely vans and trucks were distinct and truck was simply a short form of pickuptruck.
However, I’ve moved to rural eastern Ontario, and trucks are a genus into which both pickups and vans are placed.
Maybe they presold package deals, but the WuFlu caused deaths to all come at once instead of spread out over time.
new meaning to “put em on ice” in Brooklyn.
We needz mo’ threwput! We needz mo threwput!
As opposed to the usual way of storing them - in trash bags along the Belt Parkway....
I would have hoped for something a little more upscale.
pre paid ?
Note to self: don’t use uhaul.
The boys used to use the East River and nobody complained. I blame the EPA.
What the...?
Skin color?
That’s what you are obsessed with?
You’re sick.
Next time, spray each truck down with a jug of Febreeze.
LOL!!!
That about this the next time you rent a UHaul.
Coming soon to theaters:
The Haunted 16 with Ramp and Unlimited Milage.
Why would they take more than their facility holds? When we’re talking Brooklyn there could be an angle. I work with a guy who organizes monument inscriptions for scores of funeral homes in the NY metro and he said last week that some of them have 30 bodies stored in the buildings and were turning away requests.
