“A new two-part Economic Synopses examines the differences in testing and confirmed cases in the U.S. and South Korea in the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic http://ow.ly/NYJe50zpX57 “
Wish they had later data.
A hit piece, with a small bit of rebuttal.
at this point, I’m not so worried about small business - at least American small business. I am worried about one of the other pillars of society - our judicial system.
Juveniles expecting to ‘serve at home’ doesn’t seem like a whole lot of punishment. Inmates feeling they can riot to get what they want. Demands for re-litigation of sentences on a local court level. Tens of thousands of what legally are ‘minor’ criminals but to the public, are a threat nonetheless, being released across the states. I worry about revenge crime, other non-capital crime and an overloaded judicial system tasked with putting the ‘humanitarian released’ back into jail.
WashPost
“Wow. 3 weeks before DC’s first confirmed COVID case, a Woodley Park resident who had visited Italy got sick. Now serology tests indicate she had coronavirus, far earlier than previously known cases here. @TaraBahrampour”
They’re gonna keep picking that scab. And picking it.
And sooner or later they’ll ‘find’ a case in the US that predates the earliest admitted Chinese case.
Then all hell will break loose.
It won’t be a ‘Chinese Virus’ then, it’ll be a ‘USA Virus’.
Shaanxi is on the Mongolia side of Beijing. Beijing currently classified ‘high risk’. Air China is running these flights, so we can assume that these patients were temp screened at least twice prior to flight.
BEIJING (Reuters) - Chinas Shaanxi province reported 20 new imported COVID-19 cases...the patients were all Chinese nationals who had arrived on an Air China flight from Moscow. There were five other passengers who were confirmed to be asymptomatic COVID-19 patients, the paper said.
“Two studies about PCR tests on self collected saliva samples.
Synthesis: http://bit.ly/2xj0NHa
Study 1 found saliva less sensitive, http://bit.ly/3aJzdAc .
Study 2 found saliva more sensitive, http://bit.ly/35bGuI0 .”
Well, that’s ‘clear’... !
White House adviser Navarro lashes out at China over ‘fake’ test kits
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - White House trade adviser Peter Navarro on Monday accused China of sending low-quality and even counterfeit coronavirus antibody testing kits to the United States and of profiteering from the pandemic.
in response (same article) the Chinese decided it was easier to make the buyer responsible for quality control than taking responsibility:
“it was dropping a requirement that a number of key virus care products get domestic regulatory approval before export, as long as they are approved in the importing countries. “
/they have a tough row to hoe there.
Saw NY claim their cases caees from Italy... but those cases came from Wuhan.
It’s a matter of the dating.
The ‘our family had some virus back in October, it kicked our asses therefore it was the woowoo’ are peddling panda propaganda.
If ‘our’ CDC finds a victim with this on Nov 16 2019, we will own this virus.
Lock, stock and barrel.
China and Russia have been looking to blame the US for this. That would pretty much do it.
I don’t see it happening.
But idiots often surprise me by what they will believe.
Lot of scientific evidence that Wuhan, or rather Hubei, was the center of this.
As it is for most world virus cases.
It will become a diplomatic matter at that point.
I can completely see ‘our’ CDC doing this.
Health and Human Services launches coronavirus uninsured program portal
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched a portal on Monday where health care providers can be reimbursed for their care of uninsured COVID-19 patients.
The Uninsured Program Portal, set up through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), allows health care providers to apply for claims reimbursement at Medicare rates if they provided testing or care to uninsured patients on or after Feb. 4.
President Trump has promised to cover COVID-19 testing and treatment for uninsured individuals, and today, HHS is launching the tools needed to do that,” HHS Secretary Alex Azar said in a statement. “Congress appropriated funding for COVID-19 testing for the uninsured and also appropriated funding for a general fund to support providers affected by COVID-19. The President and HHS made the bold decision to ensure that some of this money is specifically devoted to covering care for the uninsured.
There’s an accepted genealogical tracing of viruses.
China will have to argue this came from Lombardy, Italy to Wuhan, China: reverse of what is the standard model.
Like I said, that’s a tough row.
Maybe our CDC could convince some idiots, but not enough . I don’t think they’d even try.IMO.
COVID TOES REGISTRY
USA Today article - most covid toes are patients in their 20s and 30s, and most test positive after developing covid toes
The phylogeny trace depends on where/what they root it on.
It can be manipulated just like anything else.
We’ll see though.
My suspicions are raised by the ‘it’s been here all along we just didn’t notice all the empty nursing homes before’ arguments being made.
I’m sure China will manipulate US, and other media, as much as they can.
Wuhan is a known source of virus outbreaks. Even the UN acknowledges that.
This PR battle will be one for the ages.
“Show me where a man gets his cornpone, and I’ll tell you what his opinions are.”
Samuel Clements
Everytoing one needs to understand the media- that lives from /china’s advertising.
I know a snowbird trying to come up to NYC area, and the flights keep getting canceled as the airlines are presumably consolidating their passengers onto fewer flights.
Thanks for that report.
I’m amazed people would be going to known ‘hot spots’.
Yes, though it has really peaked here for now and they are just doing their annual migration back from FL.
