The coronavirus, COVID-19, which originated in China and is responsible for the global pandemic, has a unique structural feature that none of its closest viral relatives yet identified have, a furin polybasic cleavage site.
Cleavage sites similar to that found in COVID-19 are present in some naturally-occurring coronaviruses, but in completely separate evolutionary pathways from COVID-19.
It has also been demonstrated that such coronavirus cleavage sites can be modified by genetic engineering to alter viral pathogenicity, sometimes increasing it.
Scientists in China have used site-directed mutagenesis to alter the cleavage site of an infectious bronchitis virus by introducing basic amino acids, thereby increasing its pathogenicity and resulting in a gain of function such that the new virus was capable of infecting the brain producing severe encephalitis.
An alternative method for introducing a polybasic cleavage site and producing a pathogenic virus from a naturally-occurring non-pathogenic one is by a technique called reassortment or mixing two or more viruses in a host animal or cell culture system from which a new virus emerges through a natural recombination process.

Cleavage site? Hmmm
Its an ongoing debate in the scientific community, as to whether these coronaviruses should be investigated in this manner. Supposedly, back in 2013, the US NIH prohibited this kind of research being done in the US, and therefore apparently all work of this sort was offshored to this lab in China. NIH has since provided funding to his lab, which is something many like to point out, but to my knowledge its not been proven that funding was ever intended for coronavirus manipulation. The bottom line seems to be whatever China was doing with coronaviruses there they were mostly doing on their own. The RATG13 strain, which is he closest known relative of the covid-19 human virus, was supposedly first stored in the lab back in 2013, but China didnt admit this until a couple of months ago, which raises many new questions of course.
The ChiCom attack success was only achievable and relied heavily on the traitorous collusion of the Democrat Party and the anti-American media.
Well, like a dozen things cross my mind reading that post.
We worry about the ethics and pandemic potential of doing this kind of testing. But we’re not sincere. Instead we offshore the research to China. We lose the technology. We lose control over the viruses. We give the Chinese money, maybe to study that which we find ethically irresponsible. We wash our hands of it and pretend we are ethically superior knowing that this all now falls into the hands of our enemies. (I know, the internationalists think a rising China is good but that’s nonsense given their political and imperial predilections).
But at least we get to feel good about ourselves. That’s the main thing, right? (/s) Nevermind that China has among the worst human rights abuses on the planet, virtually enslaving the poor so we can buy $400 sneakers and $1500 phones. Nevermind that there are real aggressions in this world. We have to concern ourselves with the social micro-aggressions and ensure that grown men can use the little girls bathroom.
Good info from both of you, thank you. The origin question is important too. I just think that the question of China intentionally infecting the world is the more pressing one. MSM is mainly focused on the origin with the clear intent of making sure that bat soup remains the culprit. That little sh*t Fauci goes out if his way to deflect any talk of it coming from a ChiCom lab of course. The man who gave 26 million Americans out of work with his BS charts.
It’s not only the science, it’s the timing and deployment of this weapon that leads one to conclude it was a deliberate attack...”attack” a term President Trump used in yesterday’s briefing.
Soros last year predicted economy crash just before election. What did he know.
Fauxi and Gates both predicting a major pandemic in Trump’s first term. What did they know.
Deployment during Chinese New Year... heaviest human migration on earth... foreign travel out of China was approved; domestic not allowed. What did they know.
Fauxi and other “experts” telling us this was no problem for the U.S. Was he letting our guard down?
Fauxi, media and medical mafia discouraging use of inexpensive and proven cures. Again...I believe this part of the attack on Americans.
Doesn’t take long to connect the dots... it’s right there in front of us.
Just so I understand, the theory would be that covid-19 is dying a natural death, which is something to be expected from a man-made (in some fashion) virus? Would this ultimately affect all the various strains? And if they did all just die out, from weakening, would that strongly if not undeniable indicate being man made? Just your opinion of course, knowing were all just undergoing crash courses in this field of study. Thanks!
“...are obviously being fomented by the traitorous Democratic Party, and their media slaves (or vice versa)....”
Some of us have smelled “RAT” from the get-go. It is likely the domestic communists colluded with the CCP on this. IF so, those specific names need to be made public, preferably just before the election. Those names need to be tried for treason, mass murder, attempted mass murder, terrorism, genocide, etc. and publicly hanged for everyone to see.
I agree with the sentiment of your post, however I dont think theres much evidence of American involvement in the study of these coronaviruses since 2015. From what I can tell, the Chinese are the leaders, with a few odd participants from the West primarily residing in the UK and Australia. I think the NIH (and DOD) have determined that the likelihood of viruses of this sort accidentally escaping is approaching practical certainty, and therefore treat their mere storage and handling as fairly akin to biological weapons, which are prohibited in all regards.
China will pay for this one way or another. The world will not forget, and I predict reliance on Chinese supply chains will diminish greatly over the coming years.
Heck we just dropped almost $3 trillion in emergency spending, and we’re not done yet just wait until the cities and states line up for their handouts. I am not usually one in favor of massive foreign aid because, in part, of the history of massive corruption resulting from it. But in this case, imagine what a “mere” $100 billion invested in central and south America production capacity could do for us in the long term.
Of course, we need to bring essential production capacity to the USA. But I’d much rather buy dog toys and plastic nozzles from Catholics south of the border than from godless communist totalitarians. And I said “invest” not give. Create an economic boom in the Americas. The Monroe Doctrine in action.
Fauchi is proving a rat, but I think Trump did the right thing by going along with the overall closure. First, this thing still has an unknown origin, and could actually be a bioweapon, whether the goal was to kill, or just injure (think M-16). Second the Democrats were already shutting down half the country anyway. Third the rest of the world was shutting down so business as normal for many couldnt have been possible either. He had no other choice really, but now its time to open things back up ASAP. Only then will the discussion move back to what did Xi know, and when did he know it.
Sure, I saw you said that and you’re probably right. I wouldn’t know either way. I guess my point was that while we made an ethical decision, we sort of looked the other way at other countries who don’t have the same concerns for human life or the risks of such research. And money is fungible. If we give Lab A money to study topic A, knowing they also study topic B which we find reprehensible... we’re essentially subsidizing the research of topic B while pretending we aren’t.
If we don’t want it to be done, then we should take every measure to ensure nobody else is doing it. We can’t control what others do, we sure as heck don’t have to do business with them.
And then I got myself on a mini-rant... about how we convinced ourselves of our moral superiority only to turn to the more absurd side of social dynamics. It takes a Pandemic to wake people up to the fact that there are more serious issues in the world than someone’s hurt feelings over an off-hand remark made one afternoon last Thursday.
All great points. The bat woman scientist in Wuhan dedicated her life to modifying these genes, in Wuhan, and now the lab is off limits. Too many people today simply cant think for themselves.
I mean, as the Pandemic was growing, you have politicians gathering in Chinatown purely for political posturing about alleged “racism” against Chinese. Which is total nonsense. Sure, maybe some people had an irrational reaction and this hurt Chinese food restaurants more severely at first. But that isn’t racism. I don’t think there are any more anti-Chinese racists today than there were in December. People - mobs of people actually - just make irrational decisions out of fear and self-preservation. It wasn’t about race but the politicians (particularly leftist politicians) will do what they do, constantly divide us by arbitrary distinctions as if a Gay person or a Black person or a Chinese person is defined entirely by that one distinction. The Pandemic shows that we are all much more common and have much more common concerns than these extraneous matters.
I agree with everything you said, Monroe doctrine on down. Corrupt politicians, perverted educators, and free traitor businessmen have all
let us down. Peace out.
Trump was boxed in, really. He had no choice but to go along. It does make me question a lot of the issues at the periphery of this. But as far as his handling of matters I think he’s done an excellent job. He acted quickly to limit travel. He knocked heads around at the Alphabet Swamp many times. He pushed the private sector to get on the ball. He overruled the FDA and CDC and unleashed the private sector to use their vast testing capacity (which they were prohibited by the 2009 law) etc.
But when you add some of these other issues into the mix; the massive closures, the economic stimulus, even social distancing and masks. As I woke up this morning and saw my mask on the counter I thought “sh!t, they turned us all into Antifa”.
Now you have AOC saying “don’t go back to work” - she’s pushing for the Universal Basic Income. Some states want to stay closed another 60 days. And the truth of the matter is there is no “proof” that the closures and quarantines actually work. Don’t get me wrong, I think they helped in a few ways it is only logical. But there is no double-blind random placebo controlled trial proving it works. And besides it’s not really a quarantine people can still go to the market, liquor store, weed shops, etc. There is still plenty of social interaction. But the people who advocate for closures act like it is proven to help when it’s really just a leap of faith. Logical yes, but still a leap. These are the same people who demand controlled clinical trials to use HQC among people who are newly infected, before they end up in the ICU when it is probably too late. Something like 4 out of 5 people who end up on a ventilator die. But nobody is questioning this mad scramble for ventilators despite their showing no clear benefit at all (to be kind).
So there is a lot to question, and a lot of hypocrisy if you take a step back and look at it. Now we find out through random anti-body testing that maybe there are many millions who were infected and never even knew it. What can we learn from that?
No idea since I am not a scientist or have any medical training.
Just thought it was interesting that there is a weakened mutation.
Some of the commentors on texags site are thinking it is possible it could mutate down to the level of various other coronavirus. All speculation
But why would they want to? They have absolutely nothing to gain from such a thing. As the world’s number 1 supplier of cheap crap China will be the country most hit by the turning off of the global economy. It would be the dumbest war idea ever.
What can we learn from that?
Mark Twain.
Well, with all due respect, I think there is more to it. There are just too many vested interests involved. The modelers don’t want to be proven wrong. The people who pushed for these closures want to be able to justify their actions. A part of me just has to wonder how much of this is an attempt to achieve political goals through undemocratic means. They tried 6 ways to Sunday to destroy Trump can we really say there are only purest of motives involved in wrecking the economy?
We are half-way to universal basic income... when the “free money” runs out and people are forced to go back to work will they find jobs? Then what? All this social aid money, all the grants, the research money. We can’t just say “well now we know not to shut the country down over a virus”. I think we have to question why we did it to begin with. Cui Bono?
