While I emotionally feel she is right, I see a real danger in these protests. If there is a great resurgence in this disease, protedts like hers will be blamed and too many in the country will call for greater abridgements of liberty and even more will approve and comply. And they will never be lifted.

Everyone seems to be disagreeing with you so far on this thread. I thought I would just address my comment to those who disagree with you and mention what I’ve mentioned a few other places: that the grounds for declaring martial law are two: invasion and insurrection.
If these protests grow into what can be called an insurrection, and martial law is declared, you won’t like that result. No one will.
Just as there are people defying the health recommendations, saying they don’t care about them, and forgetting that others may very well want them followed, and some will get sick because of their actions, most of us do not want recommendations to become regulations enforced by the military.
Keep it in mind if you decide to ramp things up.
