When a company or brand releases a Coronavirus Response ad, they might tell you that we're living in "uncertain times", but that "we're here for you". They may say their top priority is "people" and "families" by bringing their services to the "comfort and safety of your home". And don't forget: "we're all in this together!" #together What's the deal? In reality, many companies have found themselves short on cash, almost overnight. They needed to get a message out - and quick. They asked their teams to throw something together. Since they can't film a new ad because of social distancing, they compiled old stock b-roll footage...

I told my wife last week that the advertising companies are making out like bandits.
We’re not all in this together. NYC metro area has more than two-thirds of all deaths; Arkansas doesn’t even have a shutdown. I am very fortunate that both of us are working from home; our only real concern is stress and the fact that our son isn’t going to school or socializing.
Propaganda requires massive repetition from many sources (gaslighting) to achieve its maximum impact.
It’s all feel good crap. Get your product to your customer best you can and stop mentioning everything everyone is going thru. We all know this and don’t like to be reminded of the craziness. It just causes depression.
Ad agencies are infested with homosexuals and radical feminists. When they do the screeners for the company execs no one has the stones to object to what they see. Anyone who does wold be shamed as a fascist neanderthal.
And to all those who are with us together in these challenging times, we know these times are difficult. And thank you to all who must be thanked in these times. We know this is difficult. And challenging.

Where's my pizza?
Exactly, many are out of work and those that have not had their financial world turned upside down are government workers and "essential workers". The vast majority of those parroting this line have no skin in the game like small business owners who's businesses have been shutdown because they are "not-essential"
HA HA! So true!
Excellent thread topic!
Next we’ll have that euro-trash female singer who cannot pronounce a single English word correctly singing over some ukulele music and symbol rolls...
During WWII companies like Buick would run magazine ads showing their war production, but promising great cars when they started building them again. “When better automobiles are built, Buick will build them”. Of course they were still making product, just not product their regular customers could buy.
Bullshit
My first question was “who are “we”?”
[[They may say their top priority is “people” and “families”]]
Their priority is to make money while everyone else is suffering- While it’s fine to make money and innovate and be creative during pandemics- we don’t like being lied to about their intent- Taking note of the businesses that are doing this- will purchase from other busiensses that didn’t resort to lying to garner sympathetic sales-
And sign printers
I see it as a lot of virtue signalling by corporate leaders and their marketing folks. Cheap.
