Vote yes or No at link (no pop ups that I know of)
Do you think the extended severe restrictions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are too extreme?
Yes - too extreme: the long-term unemployment and lack of activity, and fear of others will do more harm than a more moderate or shorter period.
No: long-term outlawing of most sports, recreation, many businesses is necessary to stop this deadly virus.
Yes: a moderate response of wearing masks in mass transit, work and crowds instead of isolation, except for those in need of care, would be better.
No: if anything, the most severe and extensive restrictions - from not touching your face to staying indoors - need to be imposed on most or all the country, maybe for weeks
Yes they are too extreme, since new treatments are preventing deaths, while an est. 80% of those infected need no outside medical help.
No: the drastic Covid-19 restrictions continue to be needed and they also show us we need universal health care, and can do more much to prevent Climate Change, which the severe economic slowdown is helping to do.
Yes: Covid-19 has a low death rate, and we abort 3,000 babies a day, in addition to the 7,000 Americans who die every day, and the Covid-19 restrictions will cause more
No: the extreme measures are warranted and should continue until it safe to resume normal activities, the , but immigration restrictions are too severe.
Yes: 6,000 motor vehicle accidents with over 90 deaths (average) happen daily in the USA, but we do not take drastic measures to prevent them.
No, they must continue indefinitely: people can get reinfected, and vaccines are not ready, and the virus may morph into something more deadly.
Yes: developing a herd immunity is necessary and is progressively happening, and an est. 80,000 people have recovered from the coronavirus already.
No: if the massive unemployment and dependence upon the government and media attacks will prevent Trump from being reelected then it will be worth whatever it costs!
Yes, they are too extreme and ending them can help President Trump to be elected.
Deceptive poll. No in all categories is only 8%. 92% for the rest.
Yes. Any more questions?
We need to be locked down at least another 1 to 2 months.
I’m already not locked down.
Not gonna happen going forward either.
I went to the lake today.
Plenty of boats out on the water.
Since day one, this has always been a scam. It could have been handled without burning the country down. That “toothpaste” is never going back in.
You say locked down.
At least if you were locked UP ‘they’ would be feeding, clothing and seeing to your well being.
In far to many cases, this so called ‘save the world’ project has prohibited people to care for themselves.
As the cartoon ‘says...
Quarantine is restricting the movements of SICK people.
Tyranny is restricting the movements of WELL people.
Forcing ME into a lockdown because of fears of getting ‘sick’ etc is tantamount to cutting my tallywacker off will cut down on rapes.
Deceptive poll.
= = = = = = = =
Agree...I looked it over and will not take it etc
2 of the questions will FORCE yesses into noes if asked in the right areas....
when you ‘complain’ about the abortions and mention PDJT getting reelected, LIBS will automatically say no AND are liable to just say no to all of them...
Compare who died with the Flu March and April last year with this year. That will reveal how effective this shutdown has been since the precautions will help prevent the Flu as well.
Hey, you could make it more inclusive by breaking down the questions by race, color, religion, and age group. Then we could hire an actuary to tally the simple Yes - No answer.
That must be because as I had just discovered but posted anyway since I do not know how to change it, there is one more Yes question than No. This poll was my first attempt at a poll that worked. Create you own one here .
Every state really is different—the details matter.
A general poll is meaningless.
More relevant would be the Asian flu of 195758 for which 116,000 American deaths are assigned (among about half of today's total US population). Also there was the Hong Kong flu of 196869 with its 100,000 American deaths.
Or that according to estimates, between 61,000 to 80,000 Americans died during the 2017-2018 season, the latter being the highest death toll in 40 years. During that 2017-2018 season, the percentage of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) was at or above the epidemic threshold for 16 consecutive weeks. Nationally, mortality attributed to P&I exceeded 10.0% for four consecutive weeks, peaking at 10.8% during the week ending January 20, 2018, (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/season/flu-season-2017-2018.htm) with older Americans dying at a rate of 169 Americans a day, or seven people per hour. (https://www.aarp.org/health/conditions-treatments/info-2018/older-flu-deaths-rising.html
See this chart of major pandemics.
As for the 2019-2020 Flu season, as of 3-17-20 the CDC reported that,
The overall cumulative hospitalization rate was 67.9 per 100,000 population, which is higher than all recent seasons at this time of year except for the 2017-18 season. Rates in children 0-4 years old and adults 18-49 years old are now the highest CDC has on record for these age groups, surpassing the rate reported during the 2009 H1N1 pandemic. Hospitalization rates for school-aged children are higher than any recent regular season but lower than rates during the pandemic.
Today it states that as re Pneumonia and Influenza (P&I) Mortality Surveillance
Based on National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) mortality surveillance data available on April 16, 2020, 11.9% of the deaths occurring during the week ending April 11, 2020 (week 15) were due to P&I. This percentage is above the epidemic threshold of 7.0% for week 15.
However, the death figures are not provided on that page (most everything but) meaning you must hunt for them, which is typical of the CDC. But here it lists 52,285 deaths for Week 13 and 49,292 deaths for Week 14 (most current) for Influenza Deaths and Pneumonia Deaths combined. And note that some of the latter can be assigned to Covid.
> Forcing ME into a lockdown because of fears of getting sick etc is tantamount to cutting my tallywacker off will cut down on rapes.
I think Nancy has that in the stage 4 stimulus bill.
Are you serious? If so, can I ask your age?
Wouldn’t really surprise.
I ‘normally’ use that comparison when told by the gun freaks that my having a gun is dangerous and gun control will help
That is when I ask if ‘we’ were to cut ‘YOUR’ tallywacker off would that help stop rapes......normally get a real dumb look and get told that is ‘different’.
Can’t cure stupid.
Designed to allow the whiners and criers opportunities to wet down some Kleenex...how about a poll about what folks are willing to do to get things running again - and not do stupid things to sabotage the startups.
