Sorry for the vanity, but I am concerned, I work in the hospitality industry, always have. There have always been highs and lows, but this is the low of lows.
With the government mandate of social distancing, I'm afraid that there will be no big gatherings, such as wedding receptions, proms, family reuions, company meetings, etc in the future.
Good Luck!
One thing I sincerely hope changes is that bro hugging dies a swift and final death. I am ok with elbow bumping.

I’ve never understood any of that. Why guys feel the need to get all touchy feely with each other when they meet.
A simple “hey” and a head nod was enough for a long time.
Trump is the Queen of Battle. No homo.
Creeps me out! I always check for my wallet after being assaulted in that manner.
The media is/are all in against President Trump. They are trying everything to get rid of him. First they tried to hound him out of office by getting Republicans to turn against him, then by trying to paint him as a traitor, then as a criminal, then they tried to impeach him. He was cruising to reelection on the strength of the economy so they created the pandemic hoax to knock the economy down.
Creating a crisis is not that hard. The 2008 meltdown was started by Chuck Schumer when he went before the Senate and said Indy Mac Bank is insolvent. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn’t, but it set the dominoes to falling. ng to a financial crisis that caused McCain to suspend his campaign to deal with it. He thought he would look presidential, but all he did was give Obama the credibility of being his equal.
The hatred for Donald Trump is as bad as I have ever seen for anyone since Pontius Pilate. They are blind to the troubles of the eggs that have to be broken to make their omelet. Deaths? The more the better. Unemployment? The more the better. Businesses shut down forever? The more the better. National Debt? The more the better. Any price to get Donald Trump out of office, and to get any Democrat it doesn’t matter who into office. It truly does not matter to them which Democrat gets into office.
I am not in the hospitality industry, but I do have some familiarity with it.
Hotels and larger motels live or die on their success in attracting meetings, weddings, conventions, golf tournaments , basketball games, etc.
I don’t know of any way to “adapt” around the facts of life and that is a fact of life in the hotel business.
The odd thing is that Trump knows this better than anyone.
So called social spacing and limits of any kind on numbers allowed will kill the hospitality business.
Remember 9/11, 'Never Forget'?
It will never be the same, and that is ok.
Gods got this. Relax, enjoy the show. It had always been a beautiful and terrible world. Dont hold on so tight.
And please give me the same reminder when Im in that bad place.
Fish got to swim, people got to gather.
“Thank you for injecting some level-headed and non-hysterical REASON.”
Ditto that! Enough “panic” from all sides!
Oh, Good Grief.
I wonder how old you are, and how much history you know. Americans have lived through, survived, and prospered through much worse than this.
We were well on the way of recovering from 8 years of Obama’s new normal and shattering most economic numbers.
We will surely recover from 8+ weeks of Coronavirus.
One good thing may be industry and commerce realizing we need a lesser dependence on made-in-China.
Mrs L spent 23 years in Hospitality doing weddings, funerals, corporate meetings and the like.
This will pass. People will demand it.
That demand will be filled.
Count on it.

Thanks for that sensible comment.
I think there’s going to be a lot of pent-up demand for restaurants, etc.
We have a lot of retirees in my Florida community, and they like to eat out a lot.
Frankly, I don’t expect to be able to find a table at any of my favorite eateries for maybe a month after the lockdown ends. That’s OK, I can save a few bucks and lose a couple pounds sticking to home.
Sadly, a lot of folks on these threads are predicting this will doom Trump’s reelection chances.
How many of them are trolls, I can’t tell. But considering the resilience Trump has shown — and the way everything the RATs and their media minions have thrown at him has backfired — I believe that this might be a blessing in disguise.
The lockdowns have revealed the totalitarian heart of the RAT party in a way that “normal” times never could.
I hope the protests keep escalating in the next couple weeks. It’s great to see patriots standing up for their rights under the Constitution.
No need to apologize. . . .remember this world is not our home. We are only here for a little while . . . http://patburt.com/ Always remember . . .Jesus is already in all of our tomorrows.
“The bad guys won and everyone just hid in their houses and let them.”
Most people believed the president when he said there was a significant threat and they responded like reasonable people would, not like a bunch of dumbass blowhards.
I have a family wedding scheduled for late July.
A month ago I thought aren’t we lucky that it is scheduled so far out, well beyond the possible shut down expiration.
But now, while the economy may be returned to almost normal by July, large gatherings like weddings will still be discouraged, so no big wedding for us.
