Haven’t seen or heard this on any “major” news outlets...what a surprise. Because a Dem is saying it -it’s not on message.
No city in the world is more about entertaining visitors from all over... If they open and nothing bad happens, there is no excuse for any one else. I hope they take the step, because their economy is probably more crippled than most.

Quarantines only work to keep a small amount of sick people from going out!
They don’t work to keep the vast majority of healthy people locked inside.

I’m not kidding you.
If you look at some of the crap floating out there, it’s literally from a movie script, and that’s not because the movie’s writers were so precise in making their movie, but because perceptions in America are created by Hollywood.
Social distancing for example - zero proof that this helped and in fact in some places where they have more accurate data it can be seen that there is indeed NO correlation between transmission rates and social distancing policies. Or the idea that the disease came from a bat. That was in the news in the US almost as quickly as when news broke about this disease, and there is zero proof for this as well.
In America, it does not matter what it is, all you need is a crappy movie, some celebrities to endorse it, and a shallow highly biased and sensationalist news media that is almost always half baked on their facts to tell the narrative as if it’s a fact, and people will believe just about anything, may it be that the rain forest will be chopped down by the year 2000, or that acid rain will destroy the forests by the year 2000, that the earth temperatures will be far higher than they are currently in the year 2020, that oil prices will surge over $5.00 a gallon by the year 2020 as per peal oil theory, or that we will run out of potable water (1970s narrative)... And it’s ALL junk. Trash that no one wants to remember today.
Sadly, just like environmentalism was hijacked and politicized, so is health care and these stories today. And just like the ban of DDT based on a book that was more fiction that true (Silent Spring), today popular movies like Contagion shape public perceptions and even policy making. However, it’s still just junk which does carry a HUGE price tag with it.

Actually, no. She is bringing up some excellent points. The fact that the virus is not going to be totally destroyed in the near or distant future means that living in quarantine can’t be the the continual, forever mode with no end in sight. Short term we will hopefully survive. Long term, there will be irreplaceable damage. Since, we will be dealing with the virus for a long time let’s make a plan to deal with it and start opening things up. Nevada’s Trump hating governor is strongly opposing her on this issue. He does not even want to discuss plans for moving forward. Sisolak is a hard core democrat. Goodman is a Democrat, but she is not a total cool-aide drinker. She takes her job of promoting Las Vegas business seriously. Her husband, Oscar was mayor before her. He was always getting in trouble for saying what he was thinking. Kind of like Trump.

Governor has declared that NO Occupied property that is for sale can be shown to a prospective buyer.
IF property is vacant, he wants only a video shown to buyer.
WHO would EVER buy a property on a video basis?
How would the appraiser do their job?

Current Nevada Governor is long time politician bully from LAS VEGAS.
The state revenue from that town is very large-—but Sissypants doesn’t care.
Gov also declared that state doctors could NOT prescribe HCQ drugs to patients in Nevada...
Then he got caught with the Dept of Corrections buying MASSIVE amounts of the drug.
Apparently the state prisoners mean more to him than the general population.
