My $1200 check showed up this morning in my checking account. Anyone else?
Got it
She didn’t work last year, but we filed jointly. She did work this year, and got laid off (restaurant work). Not eligible for UE, didn’t work enough time yet.
Yup mine too...
I am out of this country if i get 8+million dollars..:)
And it only cost the government $5000 from every man, woman, and child!
There’s some GOOOOoood governmenting!
Thank you
So does the check make you feel better about being forced to stay home?
Funny thing. When I went to the IRS site and used the where’s my payment too it said I was eligible but it also said they don’t have enough info for direct deposit.
This is odd because every year i pay my Fed taxes via direct debit from the IRS website. All my account info is there and it has always worked.
Anyway I re entered the info and I will be getting my $ via DD.
I got mine as well.
Not sure how it's working . I filed joint last year with my wife. This year filed separate. I filed pretty early but wife filed relatively late (about a month ago). I got mine today but nothing for wife yet!
The thing is you are supposed to use that money to help those folks who have almost lost everything. When things open up go to restaurants, go to your local mom and pop bakery orshoe repair or garden shop and buy something. Get that money circulating.. its not just for you to look at or save.
“Sat in the credit union for two days.”
AHA!! Looks like the “float” is back.
They can’t work off 2019 returns, 2019 taxes are due by midnight today. Is there a grace period to 15 July?
yes there is a grace period til July 15th.
“This whole boondoggle bothers me in ways I cannot even elucidate.”
The words you’re looking for are what is euphemistically called “moral hazards”, a handing out of enearned benefits in this case.
But one can make an argument that in this case it is justified since people lost jobs and income directly as a result of government decrees. Still the odor of “moral hazard” is there and it’s important to be aware of it.
“Trillions of dollars being sprayed out of a fire hose, going in every direction. No focus.”
The no focus part of it is due mainly to having to do something quick. By the time you figure out who deserves it or not you may end up with civil disorder.
Also you have to weigh those trillions against the many more trillions lost as the result of the shut down.
Shut up and go spend it.
But dont violate any social guidelines. Some alcohol is ok to buy. Im pretty sure all the pot stores are open and you can get free transport to any abortion clinic in the country. But dont even think about exercising any other God given rights. We have cleared out enough space in the jails releasing criminals we have plenty of room for you trouble makers.
Nope.
Yep along with many others I’d guess.
Sadly, I think you are right. Also, my CU isn't doing anything to help those with existing loans (car payment in my case).
They're only offering "90 days same as cash" to new loan customers. Late night TV hucksters are still alive...
