I logged on to this IRS portal this morning. https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/get-my-payment
After entering all my info it said you are eligible to receive the stimulus check, but we don't have your bank information! How is that possible when I get my social security via direct deposit to my bank account every month?
So I entered my bank information and then the portal said we will deposit the stimulus check to that account! (which is the same account as my SS deposit account).
Check your bank account every day. My wife and I received our “stimulus” deposits today.
Thanks. Did just that. Nothing.
I use my bank account for tax refunds and payments. I also get social security. The stimulus check arrived in the account today.
If you have Social Security you will have it deposited into your account that way. Do you have Direct deposit?
Apparently, you don’t want the government to run your life, until you do. And, the only way that the IRS could send your check to your checking account that you use for your SS check would be if the entire federal government knew everything about you and was micro managing your life. That’s the Democrat plan, so perhaps you want to switch.
The IRS will send you a check to your current address, to wit: the address that you used when you filed your tax return. Good luck.
Try this one, Heres the official IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/coronavirus/non-filers-enter-payment-info-here
You are correct. I hope people read your post.
Left hand, meet right hand. Right hand, I’m pleased to introduce left hand.
I suppose in some ways we should be grateful they don’t know what the hell they are doing. If they did, we might be a lot more like China.
“For security reasons, the IRS plans to mail a letter about the economic impact payment to the taxpayers last known address within 15 days after the payment is paid.”
Yes, on 4th Wednesday of month.
Yes and I was asked about what we owe the IRS and how much we made last year.
There might be useful information for you in this thread. If not, forget I mentioned it.
That is a good attitude to have, but if you are eligible then you should make sure you get the stimulus check.
They are separate. I do my own taxes each year with TaxAct and entered my banking info the first time to get a direct deposit. Once the IRS has it they can send your payment. Ours was in the bank this morning. You will have to go to the site set up by the IRS and enter your bank routing number and account number.
Even if you do get a tax refund they won’t have your direct deposit banking numbers if you receive a paper check refund.
Haha, if I have to wait for a check to arrive by snail mail, I may have expired by that time.
Just because SS has your direct deposit info doesn’t mean the IRS does. You will have to go to the IRS site and enter that information.
Mnuchin said yesterday if you have SS direct deposited you don’t have to do anything. Guess he was wrong?
