It’s never good for a sitting president heading into reelection to be compared to Jimmy Carter. In 1980, with the country in an economic and diplomatic crisis, the beleaguered former president took on Ronald Reagan, then considered a weak challenger, and won only six states.
Now as 2020 nears, President Trump is finding himself constantly behind Democrats in reelection polls and the latest has compared the Republican to Carter. “Perhaps the closest analogy to Trump in terms of approval ratings is Jimmy Carter, whose average approval rating for his term was 45 percent,” said a survey from the Wason Center for Public Policy at Virginia’s Christopher Newport University.
“Carter, of course, lost his reelection bid. Trump’s average approval rating for his first 27 months in office has ranged between the high 30s and the mid-40s. President Trump will be the least popular president to run for reelection in the history of polling,” said the poll analysis that put Trump at 37% and a generic Democrat at 48%.

Firstly, obviously a lot will hinge on reopening the economy in the wake of the Wuhan Flu.
Secondly that generic turned out to be Biden who has all kinds of baggage and who is deteriorating right in front of our eyes.
Thirdly, Biden is going to inspire a big surge of younger voters????? Get real.
well... if the media told the truth.. and if the democrats had accepted Trump as President... his ratings would be 95%.. as it is, i dont believe them nor trust them.. EVERYONE has an agenda ..you can hear it when they talk.. and Trumps successes and his presence will still win in a landslide.. in spite of all the enemy tried.

I think its obvious to ALL that democrats will stop at nothing and stoop to levels of disgrace that boggle the consciousness to eliminate their one true enemy PDJT. Who cares that the media is comparing Trump to Carter? They’ve been comparing him to Hitler for four years now, and his favorability numbers continue to rise - in spite of fake polls and fake news articles like this one.

agree-the economy is what for the most part elects or defeats Presidents for re-election- Trump was looking good in Jan, now? it is not a given. Peoples memories are short and this is why Dems like Pelosi want to slow the opening and get mail ballots everywhere-all the better for ballot harvesting

Wason Center Assistant Director Rachel Bitecofer, who directed the survey, said, “It’s actually sheer lunacy to run the guy, but he’s the conductor and the poor GOP is strapped into this train that isn’t making any station stops until after this election.”
