I feel we will continue with shortages just because of demand but also the storage capacity....I also feel we will have massive inflation in consumer goods....
Never at CNN
People do not understand supply chains.
Makes no sense.
My uncle owns a fruit and veg. distribution business. Almost anything can be sold at the right price. This guy just needed to find some new sales channels and distributors.
Can anyone give any details? I am not in any big hurry to watch a video on CNN.
Looks like CNN is trying to create more panic.
where do you live? the only thing we cant find are sanitary wipes.
Exactly.
Well, I farmed for a year and grew a crop of corn
That stretched as far as the eye can see
That’s a whole lot of cornflakes,
Near enough to feed New York till 1973
Cultivation is my station and the nation
Buys my corn from me immediately
And holding sixty thousand bucks, I watch as dumper trucks
Tip New York’s corn flakes in the sea
The Who - Now I’m a Farmer
Government people certainly don't.
luckily I bought 50# of sugar back in January and quite a bit of flour...tp storage is great....
but it still bugs me that this very nice store seems short on certain things....
I'll have to drag myself over to Winco or Walmart I guess....
Please help me understand this then. Say the wholesaler usually supplies restaurants and schools. They don't need it though Box stores and grocery stores need more supply.
Shouldn't the that wholesaler talk with the box and grocery store to see if they could sell some of their goods?
Grocery stores are gouging.
FDR has risen from the dead to give us Depression II.
“People do not understand supply chains.”
I try explaining that to my sister. I told her places need to open back up to fix system. She is like no the government needs to fix it, people will die if places open back up.
Everything is Trumps fault. I just gave up and hung up the phone.
This does not make sense to me. Can anyone explain how farmers in Florida have to destroy crops, because it is not selling, but crops from south of the border are still selling?
A lot of production is already pre-contracted to a specific buyer.
The wholesalers are buying the crops from south of the border. They are not buying the produce from Florida. Could be the price. Like everyone that produces a product or provide a service, the farmer must get a minimum price for his product. He/She has labor, taxes, fuel, electricity, equipment and other expenses. Before he spends a dollar, he has to earn a dollar. Only the Government can spend more money than it takes in. With nothing to back it up . the Government can keep its printing presses going full speed 24/7/365. The money is worth what they say.
