Love the show.
Amount of time for commercials is bullshit.
Bolsa. Don Bolsa.
If its okay to reference AI, are there any good singers in the final 20?
Ive missed the last few shows, and prolly wont watch many more, but I am curious if theres any standout singers, if anyone is watching.
By the way, Kim Wexler really needs to dump Jimmy, toute suite!!
Was just able to watch the episode and was wondering why Saul doesn’t tell Lalo about the attempt to steal the bail money? Thanks.
“wondering why Saul doesnt tell Lalo about the attempt to steal the bail money?”
We wondered that, too. Then I thought that Lalo would understand that someone would want to steal the money, and that would make sense to Lalo. BUT, since Saul came out of the horrible ordeal, it would make Lalo wonder HOW Saul survived. That might make him realize that someone was keeping an eye on Saul and protecting him, i.e., Mike.
It was pretty obvious that Saul absolutely didn’t want to bring Mike into the situation — a life-and-death issue.
Would that compromise the relationship between Lalo and Saul? I don’t know. Confusing.
“That might make him realize that someone was keeping an eye on Saul and protecting him, i.e., Mike.”
How did Mike even know about the money pickup unless Saul or Gus told him? I doubt Saul told him since he seemed to think it would be a milk run and was surprised when Mike showed up. It looks like Gus sent Mike but why would Gus care about the bail money being stolen? No bail means Lalo stays in jail which is what Gus would want. Another question is why Lalo didn’t arrange for an armed escort to protect the money.
So it sounds like you’re as confused as we are. Maybe it’ll all be clear in the final episode.
And I’m not tracking with the whole Nacho thing — where his loyalties lie, etc. At this point I think he just wants OUT of everything, protect his father, and live his life.
But it boils down to what Kim told Lalo in the last episode: "Get your house in order!"
Lalo was in jail. Tuco is in jail (and an unstable drug addict). Hector's in a nursing home. The Salamanca operation is in such shambles that there's no one--not even Lalo's own men--that he would trust with bringing the bail money in person. Even if there were, like the twin cousins, if they were stopped by the police, they would have no plausible excuse for why they have 7 million dollars in cash. But Lalo's lawyer would have an excuse--thin and suspicious as it may be. Attorney-client privilege.
Kim also points out that there are no off-shore accounts prepared (like Gus has) to send anonymous wire transfers.
Lalo's only option was to send Jimmy/Saul.
Nacho is Gus's spy. Whatever Lalo is doing or thinking of doing, Gus will know through Nacho. That's how Mike knew to keep an eye on Jimmy in the desert--and he may have also had a tracking device on the gas cap of Jimmy's POS car.
“he may have also had a tracking device on the gas cap of Jimmy’s POS car.”
Could be. They use the car tracking devices often.
And was it the twins who were tracking Nacho’s Javelin? Someone was holding a device, and pulled out behind the Javelin — to follow it, I assume.
(Good link to recaps of episodes. Thanks.)
I don't follow the show at all anymore, but the last I heard they sent everyone home.
That’s the one. Thanks!
Something I don't understand ...
The hijackers in the desert were apparently sent by Don Bolsa. If what he told Gus is true, he was just trying to protect the cartel's money.
So ... If Mike hadn't been there, they would've killed Jimmy and taken the money back to the cartel?
The cousins (or someone speaking for them) would have said, "You idiots! That was Lalo's bail money!" And they would have had to make some other arrangement to get the cash across the border.
Maybe I missed something or some detail hasn't been revealed yet. Looks like Lalo is on his way to see Bolsa in the next episode.
Kim really went off on him...lol...
Hi, Jonny!
They sent everyone home? Interesting.
How will they do the show with no vocals and no audience?
Thanks!
By the way, speaking of BCS, the scene with Kim, Lalo and Jimmy, where Lalo kept asking Jimmy to repeat his story, ‘til Kim walked over and said “bullet holes?! That’s what you’re concerned about? Don’t you think it’s possible that a couple of yahoos with guns shot up a piece of crap car and pushed it into a ditch?!” thus saving their lives, was one of the best scenes I’ve ever seen on TV, rivaling Rescue Me, BB, The Wire, The Shield and Justified.
I love that show!
See ya’, Jonny. I hope everything’s going well with you...
What was the name of the song at the beginning of the episode?
Somethin Stupid.
That is the song--good catch!
That's a callback to an earlier episode with the same title, and that episode also began with a split-screen montage. Only then, it showed Jimmy and Kim being together, but drifting apart.
Next week's season finale is called "Something Unforgivable".
Thanks!
