The media/dems have maybe finally found their long sought issue that could split Trump’s base. Probably why they want the insanity to continue indefinitely.
PT's actions have been pretty simple to understand.
1) The 'experts' said up to 2.2 million dead. 2) PT said, "Unacceptable!" went with the 'experts' recommendation to shut 'er down.
3) 'Experts' said, "My Bad!" Not 2.2 million, maybe 200K.
4) Our 'experts' said, "Well, we'll use a different model! It says +/- 200k."
5) The 'experts' said, "Oops! Not +/- 200k, maybe 80k! Our bad!" (The "Our Bad!" is fiction. They don't make mistakes, they 'adjust the model based upon the data.) 6) Two days later..."The 'data' has changed, now +/- 60k." 7) So PT is dealing with a bait and switch from the 'experts.' 2.2 million dead, shut 'er down. +/- 60k, NFW. 8) It's now a sales and reassurance job, We're not all gonna die, and it's safe to come out from under the bed. Time for the public to lean on the politicians to let go.

I agree with you, and if this thread wasn’t about the cCV being the common seasonal flu, I bet we’d have complete agreement.
As the data comes in it would appear that the Wuhan Virus is approximately 4x deadlier than the flu.
That makes it not the flu. And not the Andromeda Strain either.
Of course in the future we could see a strain of flu that is much deadlier than normal, so no point in picking apart semantics that have to do with virus structures.
