Here's the music I like nowadays:

Daddy Daughter Duet - The Prayer

Everyone has their own music preferences.

I’ve already heard enough to know that he’s right. Music written today sucks. There are still talented musicians and singers everywhere, but songwriting is terrible.

These days you have to go looking for music that suits your taste. It’s not going to come to you.

There is a lot of great music out there.

Many of the older generations have similar feelings toward the younger generations' music.

..when he turns on the radio

That's the problem. There's lots of great music out there. It just doesn't usually get played on mainstream radio.

Steven Wilson, Opeth, Tool, Mastodon, Between the Buried and Me, and Plini Roessler-Holgate(and others), all keep me busy. All still creating.

Just because you have no fortitude for prog. rock or metal doesn't mean music is dead.

Dwell on the folkie music and chamomile tea, recess into your stagnant mind and pine for past. What a life.

Which is worse, idiots that say old people music sucks or idiots that say music is dead? Toss up.

The Bob Seger classic: That Old Time Rock and Roll

Just take those old records off the shelf
I’ll sit and listen to ‘em by myself
Today’s music ain’t got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

You and others go ahead and keep playing the same old lame oldies tunes...

There has never been close to the volume of new music and live music like there is today. At bandcamp.com you select your genres and they continually feed you free new releases.

That was enough for a lifetime but he has other good songs..

That song, however, is phenomenal and he covers 100 different topics in it.

Sheer genius.

As a hobby I make music videos for up and coming bands.

This video has a Covid theme to it. For a young UK rock band.

Not only is there good music, there are writers who consistently put out good albums over time.

When I recently heard a Grammy Award had been awarded to someone named “Billy Eilish” although I have no interest whatsoever in Hollywood’s ridiculous awards ceremonies, I was curious to know what sort of music that person produced.

I listened to 3 songs.

I absolutely agree with McLean.

I get no examples either when I ask the same question. Or I get cover bands . . .

Bandcamp.com streams mp3 @ 128 bps. Even good music would sound crappy with that encoding.

Allegorical...poetry....set to music. Drove my chevy to the levee but the levee was dry...levees are built to hold back floodwaters...after the music died...no more flood of music...the levee was dry....the theme of the whole song.i.e the death of huge amounts of great music ( at least in his mind).
They dont write...or utter songs about great themes nowadays in general..it is all about ones own personal happiness...for solipsistic soporific chemically altered brain dead kids of today.
Freegards.
