You made his point. Good lyrics are hard to come by, and matching them to good music is even harder. I agree with this guy. Today's music is mostly junk in my opinion. It's hollow...Not memorable etc...It's why the groups like the Beatles and Stones are/were so great. Hit after hit after hit. That's not happening today. Not even close.
I listen to classical and jazz, mostly beat jazz.
Pop music is all that is left, rock & roll died some time ago.
‘Rap’ is 1000 versions of the same song...
When I ask for examples of all this great new music being performed today, however, I never get any.
Satellite music quality sucks.
Nonsense!
Music has never been better. Go on YouTube and look for music promotion channels. And or go to bandcamp.com and select your favorite genres.

Nonsense, I grew-up in the rock and roll era, '60's and '70's were the best.
I included some of the '80's just for a few favorites.

The music doesnt mean anything.’
Sour grapes, grandpa. Cheer up. The music today is better than ever.
Ken Burns has a wonderful five part documentary on country music. Every ten years the musicians wondered if country music was dead. Elvis almost killed country in 1955. Nashville almost killed country in 1965. Get the drift? Musical talent is everywhere.
Oh it had meaning. But morose was about the American condition is hardly new
Yes. In the war music genre I prefer the band 1914. Its black metal, but this video will make the hair on your arms stand up. Its about Argonne Meuse., deadliest battle in us history.
