All the populations of infected outside the true hotspots are still small enough for statistical noise to be a factor. All it takes is one rogue preacher or a super spreader at the supermarket and bam!
I hope we never get to the point where the noise is drowned out by the magnitude of the pandemic.
Those are Skilled Nursing Facilities, so most of their residents likely require care beyond the capability of their families. My dad stayed in these facilities a few times following major procedures that required a couple weeks of inpatient rehab. What a depressing place. Other than the folks there for rehab, it felt like a factory to keep people alive for $.

“The University of Washington COVID-19 has just revised its model, saying today will be the U.S. peak for daily coronavirus deaths.”
No link, but there is the new graph.
Did Rush talk about deaths being classified as Coronavirus this week?
My brother keeps talking about counties/doctors classifying deaths as Cornonavirus now to run numbers up to get more money from the Government.
“Dozens of NY’s hospitals closed. Then COVID-19 hit. Now marginalized patients are dying. Here’s why”
Well...breaking news...the assisted living place where MIL is, in Oregon, has employee who tested positime for Covid ...probably will show up this p.m. in numbers..only 37 residents...will see what happens.
Sorry to hear that, maybe it will be an isolated case. I think some of these homes are handling it better than others
Is likely isolated...this town has 4 Covid cases
No doubt it happens, but those cases are the exception. NY by far has the largest number of reported deaths, and they have clarified that only those who die of CV19 and have a valid test are included. They have a separate count of “probable CV19 deaths” that are not included in their daily report that includes almost 200 a day where they are finding people dead in their homes, 8 times the normal number. It is far more likely deaths are being under-counted than over-counted.
Italy and Spain are trying to figure out why their “non-COVID” mortalities have risen several times normal, and suspect that many COVID-19 deaths were not identified. Heres a story on that:

A lot of people think this whole thing is not just a global conspiracy, but a combination of MANY conspiracies. Everything they hear or read is twisted into a new conspiracy and EVERYONE is a conspirator. It’s really quite bizarre to watch folks move from theory to theory with each new post on random unknown blogs or twitter.
Keep it up. the outdoor and and the Vitamin D from the sun can only do you good.
Glad it was such a wonderful day for you.
You sounded like you needed to de-stress.
Thank you, LilFarmer, for Corona Virus Daily Thread #43!
Yep, I got a good amount of sun while I was there. But then it came out in force, got real hot quick, so I had to leave. I didnt bring any water, food or my hat as it was a bit of an impulse unplanned excursion.
I think de-stress is a good way to describe it. When I got home, I felt stronger in spirit, and I used that to propel me over to the store for some supply replenishing. About to go into Walmart and see what they got.
NY is looking better at this point than I thought it would.

At this time 777 deaths today from CV is still awful (and does not include those in-home deaths) , but that figure of 777 looks to be leveling out.
I wonder what current TOTAL ICU usage vs. capacity is? Ditto for ventilators?
Marines deploy to support Roosevelt carrier, Esper open to reinstating commander
APRIL 10, 2020 / 5:09 PM
By Christen McCurdyApril 10 (UPI) — The Navy has deployed a team of medical professionals to Guam to augment efforts to manage an outbreak of the novel coronavirus on the USS Theodore Roosevelt.
According to the Marine Corps, about 230 sailors and Marines arrived in Guam “throughout the first weeks of April” to support the Roosevelt’s medical staff in assessing, managing and treating symptoms of COVID-19 while the ship is docked in Guam.
As of Friday, 447 sailors from the ship have tested positive, and 3,155 of its 4,800-strong crew have been moved ashore in Guam, according to Navy figures reported by Stars and Stripes.
The aircraft carrier has been docked in Guam since late March, when it stopped on the island to test its crew of about 4,800 for COVID-19.
The outbreak has been the center of a political firestorm that resulted in the removal of its captain, Brett Crozier, and the resignation of the Navy’s acting secretary after Crozier sent a letter pleading for more resources to manage the outbreak.
Defense Secretary Mark Esper told CBS This Morning on Friday that he is willing to consider reinstating Crozier, pending the outcome of an investigation.
“No further action will be taken against Capt. Crozier until the investigation is completed.
Massive Spike in NYC Cardiac Arrest Deaths Seen as Sign of COVID-19 Undercounting
Hundreds of people are now dying at home in New York City daily

Across Long Island, volunteer emergency responders are answering your calls amid the coronavirus pandemic. Greg Cergol reports.
The FDNY reported a nearly 400 percent increase in “cardiac arrest” home deaths in late March and early April, a spike that officials say is almost certainly driven by COVID-19, whether they were formally diagnosed or not.
Between March 20 and April 5, the department recorded nearly 2,200 such deaths, versus 450 in the same period last year, according to data it provided on Friday.
The numbers are dramatically higher across the board — the numbers of calls, the number of deaths and particularly the percentage of such calls that end in death.
In just the first five days of April, more than 70 percent of cardiac arrest calls ended in a pronunciation of death every day. Some days, the numbers were up tenfold versus a year earlier — and everyone acknowledges there’s only one likely cause.
Its just horrendous. The numbers speak for themselves. This used to be a very, very rare thing in New York City and suddenly its jumped up. The only thing thats changed is COVID- 19, Mayor Bill de Blasio told reporters earlier this week. The city is moving to count more people in its official total, even if they were not tested for the virus.

Remember, this company has had raids of illegals time and time again. Paula Deen is/was their spokesperson. It’s been on my ban list for years.
