I think there were earlier cases in GA that appeared mild, like the ones around Atlanta that I think could have been from China because of our huge Asian population. When we started importing Italy cases, a more severe disease started to spread. The south GA outbreak is like an entirely different disease that what we have in N Ga...

Just look at the two:
Fulton 1417 Cases, 50 deaths (pop. 1.064 million)
Dougherty 1072 cases, 68 deaths (pop. 88,000)

IMO - Adding to disinfect the knobs and buttons on your washer and dryer. Also, the light switch. Hold the germy clothes away from you, keep them off the floor, don’t shake them and don’t put them in a laundry basket. Wash them separate from other clothing.

Why would anyone put germy clothes in a laundry basket? That’s just something else to worry with. Go directly to the washer. Don’t pass Go. Don’t collect $200.

You make a good point about Californians being prepared for disasters.

I have a sister who lives in Southern California and she has lived through wildfires and earthquakes. She keeps her garage stocked with her earthquake supplies and is prepared to evacuate in case of wildfires.

Outside of hurricane prone areas in the South, there was probably no area in the US better prepared for shelter in place orders.

I think you are correct on this. I believe SC has the milder one. I wonder if a area gets hits with the milder case first it will lessen the effect of the one form Italy.

If you already had the mild one can you get the more dangerous one.

I do not think the different strains were in the model projections.

“Type L - unusual type - not a lot of infiltrates/fluid - lung compliance near normal
Type H - normally encountered type -severe ARD - 20% - low lung compliance plenty of water/infiltrates so lungs will be very stiff”

I wonder what happen to S?

I can only guess that his recovery must have been so unusual and different from patients that they’ve treated with the other drugs that they couldn’t see anything else to attribute it to but the Erythropoietin.

How often do you see a recovery described as “miraculous” in a scientific paper?

I want it dead immediately, not flapping in the wind being blown back into the house.

Even before that in about 2008. Schools closed due to the regular flu and there was hand sanitizer in every classroom. Sadly, that was the same time the boys were breaking the soap containers and making messes with it in their restrooms so the dumb school board took soap out of the restrooms for half the year. Ick.

And it’s not some crackpot thing somebody cooked up and just stuck on the web.

It’s accepted for publication in the Journal of Medical Virology.

This article has been accepted for publication and undergone full peer review but has not been through the copyediting, typesetting, pagination and proofreading process, which may lead to differences between this version and the Version of Record. Please cite this article as doi: 10.1002/jmv.25839

It was put up on April 8, so maybe it’s just too new for people to have taken notice of it. I only found it because i wondered if EPO had been tried to treat COVID-19 and did a google search. I expected there would be either lots of google entries or none. But there was just that one dealing with EPO and COVID-19.

Boris’ “world class care” wasn’t all that good when he wasn’t immediately placed in a private hospital room instead of being sent home until it got bad.

Heard on the news this AM his father says he will not be able to go back to work for quite some time. So, he’s nowhere near out of the woods, yet.

Damn! I use vinegar to clean just about everything too. It’s not clean until it’s vinegar clean.

This is bad news ;/

That is what my fear is we reopen NO ONE has any immunity however we need to open this damn country!! My county has a population of 900,000 and we have 257 cases 6 fatalities all from nursing homes and with the numbers this low I seriously doubt those nursing home deaths were due to CV19!,

Since DH is outside in the camper, he has been putting his clothes inside a dark plastic bin and putting it in the sun. Twice a week he comes in with mask and gloves, and puts them in the wash. After it’s done washing, I wipe all the knobs, washer handle, light switches, etc, and put everything in the dryer, then leave it back outside for him.

That’s our system. He wants to limit how much he comes inside, so it’s working out ok so far.

I handwash dishes and add a bit of bleach to the soapy water. That’s another thing grandma did that I never understood until now.

Grandma’s 1000 rolls of tp and paper towels and bleach in the dishwater. Scary thinking back of all the things I never asked her about but I’m slowly starting to remember. I did dig out her silverware and we’re eating of that now, just in case. Even using a silver spoon to dish out the cats’ food. I’ve always understood her full freezer and pantry and how it gives you a sense of comfort and well-being.

Virtual hugs to him in keeping you safe.

Ugh, tourists just woke up two doors down. We are so going to be hit with this monster in two weeks. Our cats roam over there...

Vinegar will kill most germs, but you’ll need alcohol for the virus. Or a UV light.
