Throughout the coronavirus pandemic, postal workers have been on the front lines, considered "essential workers" who must continue to do their jobs as usual while others stay home. But some lawmakers are warning that without more support, the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) could completely shut down in the next few months, threatening the livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

Should really help the dems push for vote by mail.

Think of the mountains of junk mail never seeing the light of day.
Bummer for actual mail though.

Pelosi tried to get a postal bailout in the virus relief bill. This is just ground prep to take another run at it.

What a great opportunity to "re-image" (to use failed governor Gavin Newscum's word) the post office as a series of outsourced privatized businesses acting independently under strictly enforced government guidelines for service and performance. Compliance and performance determining the amount and continuance of any Federal subsidies. Hiring and policies determined by local laws.
Basically it would work in states like Florida, Arizona and other conservative areas and in NYC and large leftist CA cities, it would become a thing of the past, while still permitting conservative areas to maintain service.

Shut it all down and let private companies handle it. Pension off all the employees tomorrow. They cost less if they don’t “work.”

Shut down junk mail but continue first class and packages. If they close down, then the grocery stores must shut down, too. Right, USPS???? Because we don’t value your lazy asses more than the grocery store workers.
To: sodpoodle
Billions of taxpayer dollars to deliver junk mail.
