The brewer of Corona beer has suspended production because of the coronavirus pandemic. The brand of lager - whose unfortunate name has made it a punchline during the health crisis - will not be produced after Mexico deemed it non-essential. Fears of a shortage have prompted panic-buying, with pictures from Mexican shops showing trolleys piled up with beer. The brewery Grupo Modelo said it was scaling down its operations to a 'bare minimum' in line with the Mexican government's orders.

Well, this *is* Corona we’re talking about.
Surprised it took this long. They should have slapped new labels on the bottles that say “coyote piss” and it would have sold better.
I’ve never been a fan of Corona beer. Dos Equis, originally created by a German immigrant to Mexico, is my favorite Mexican beer.
In Stephen King’s The Stand (original
uncut version) a psychotic man known
as The Kid leads Trashcan Man to
Golden CO so they can feast on Coors...which is no longer being
made due to the “superflu”.

When I go to a Mexican place
here in MA I have Corona Light
on draft, with a lime, and it
goes ok with beef quesadillas.
Now restaurants are takeout
only (and as it says, they’ve
stopped making the beer) but
eateries may soon be able to
sell beer to go.
So it’s ok, kinda good, but the
food is the highlight.
I usually keep a few cold Corona Lights in the fridge for when my other half decides to change several times before we go anywhere. Helps take the edge off.

There are any number of beers..American made..that taste just as good..and you can drink them with a lime,too.
Something about Carona gives me bad hangovers after about 4-5 beers. Other brands much less so.
Mind boggling. Humans can be just baffling.
No wonder I like Dos Equis. But Negra Modelo is right up there in my top 5 favorite beers. Love Negra Model. Unlike you, I have no interesting story about it, however.
I am reminded on a daily basis.
And guess where I work.
