Need an escape from the corona virus blues? Do you have the self isolation blues? In need of some good laughs and dark humor? You need some of Ruth's ultra sassy dialog? Are other family members getting on your nerves as they have been laid off from their jobs? Then tune into Ozark via NetFlix. Season three stands alone OK. If you like it you can circle back and see the first two seasons.
Gov't workers are home bound, getting paid for doing pretend work via tele-commuting. But Ozark is your private sector bonus and there for the rest of us.
Ray Donovan and Billions are re-watchable. The latest season of Curb Your Enthusiasm has some good laughs.
You can also teach your dog and cat new tricks. Your pet hamsters too. I am thinking of taking up beekeeping.
Last weekend one of the networks showed the Falcons/Patriots Superbowl.
I watched that and enjoyed it...
though I’m not interested in that Brady/Mickelson vs. Manning/Woods golf match that is being planned.
Brit cop shows:
Line of Duty - Amazon Prime except Season 6 is Acorn TV
The Fall - Amazon Prime
Broadchurch - Amazon Prime
All excellent.
Got to love Darlene. :-)
Watching Luther now which has some quirks and twists. Not stellar but watchable.
There’s lots of stuff out there but quality level varies and watchability depends on how desperate you are.
I can do without the gay FBI agent who is completely miscast, but it’s a decent diversion from the virus. I’m going to watch the Irish series “Blood” on Acorn TV this weekend. Some other movies I plan to watch: Captive State, Mile 22, & The Tracker.
How was Line of Duty, if you don’t mind me asking?
Ozark Season 3 was the best season yet.
If you never watched Westworld, watch Seaon 1 (perfect!). Season 2 is just so-so in my mind, and the jury is out on Seaosn 3.
My opinion: don’t waste your time with shows like Hunters, The Outsider and Man in the High Castle. I tried but they became so boring.
I watched the first season before I sh*t canned Netflix. It was pretty decent.
I recently watched the movie “The Art of Racing in the Rain”. If you are a dog lover you will enjoy it. No nudity or vulgarity. And you will get a little teary.
The Brit series “The Durrells in Corfu” is rather good. Set on a Greek island in the late 30’s. It’s on Amazon, not sure if anywhere else.
Amazon also has all the seasons of the original Bob Newhart Show, some of the best dry comedy ever to show on TV. No one does straight man like Bob Newhart.
The Canadian TV series “Corner Gas” is excellent. Again, great dry humor with no vulgarity.
Outside of the “tube”, if the weather is acceptable, I’m riding my Indian. I did nearly 500 miles this week just tooling around central Kentucky. I asked my wife if she noticed I was gone, she grunted and said a couple of times. Really.
The Queen was good. Like you were on Ozarks now.
yes...I agree...this “work at home” farce....but they’ll all get their govt handouts...
Tiger King on Netflix is their number 1 show right now. Its so disturbing that I can neither recommend nor decline to recommend. Once I started, I couldnt look away. Like a bad accident by the side of the road
Have you seen the mini series The English Game on Netflix? I thought it was excellent. Another good one is 7 Days Out.
Netflix is dead to me.
Ugh. Could not get into that one. I watched 4 episodes I think. Seemed like an eternity. Same thing over and over. When do they get into the facts of the case and the investigation? No redeeming qualities in the characters, not even the victim was that sympathetic, having left his family for that bitch Carol. Sure I feel bad for the guy killed in cold blood. Anyway, i didnt care for that one and Im a big true crime fan.
Loved Broadchurch
Tiger King is indeed a train wreck but one I enjoyed :)
Nope. I've been self-isolating for the last 16 years, so this isn't causing me any problems. In fact, there isn't enough time in a day for me to get everything done that I want...watch DVR programs, read books, check FR, work on my family tree, watch Netflix, watch Prime, watch Acorn, watch Apple+ (I got it free for a year), Disney+ (got that free for a year too), watch tv series and movies I've downloaded for years from British torrent sites. Like I said...just not enough time to do it all...not even house cleaning, which of course is at the bottom of the list.
