Grocery giant Costco has enacted a new rule to limit crowding in its stores across the country as the company faces a surge in business and sees items like toilet paper and hand sanitizer fly off the shelves. Costco announced Wednesday that starting Friday April 3 only two people per membership card will be allowed into stores at a time. 'Costco will allow no more than two people to enter the warehouse with each membership card. This temporary change is for your safety and the safety of our employees and other members, and to further assist with our social distancing efforts. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding,' the store said in a statement.

Some local reports say they are only letting 2 people in the ENTIRE STORE at one time.

Also, I would love if they made this policy permanent. Costco can be a zoo with entire families wandering around and chowing down on the free samples.
So 2 per membership card. Since you can have 2 cards per membership, this means a family of 4 can still go in.

I think it’s a good move. I do not shop at Costco, but I do shop at Aldi. And, here’s an example of the fools out in the stores. I arrived at Aldi upon their opening and it was already very busy. I’m not sick, but I’m over sixty, so I have a greater risk should I contract this virus. I’m not paranoid, but I am practicing the mitigation behaviors we’ve been recommended. No reason not to do this. So, as I’m trying to pick out my items, there is a woman with a cart who is shopping, all the while her husband and teenage daughter are just hanging out...yes, hanging out by blocking the refrigerator doors, blocking the cases with the lunch meats and deli cheeses, and just standing in the way of my trying to get my shopping done. Seriously! Why? Why? What fools! Stay home, idiots! Glad Costco is doing this. I heard Home Depot is doing something similar.
My local network reported that Costco would would only allow 2 people at a time enter the store these reporters are complete IDIOTS!!!
The one in my neck of the woods allows 125 people.

I don’t know what it is like where you’re at, but around here people treat a Costco shopping trip like a family outing. Even limiting it to groups of 4 would be an improvement.

Me? I love when people show their membership card upon entering Costco and then just stop with their cart chatting with their spouse trying to figure out where they should go. Completely situationally unaware they are blocking everyone else behind them.
*sigh* I miss the good ‘ol days. *sigh*
The cashiers are now trained by Drill Instructors so you better watch out
I’ve read that some stores are limiting the first opening hour to senior citizens only. That makes sense in times like these.

We love Costco. We take the family there for lunch, and then shop together. It’s a good time for our family.
Of course, during Coronavirus season, this new policy makes good sense. Indeed, only 1 member of our family will be at Costco at any given time.
I went to two stores today. Not Costco but tp was available although not in huge amounts. I declare the shortage over.
