The bizarre handling of Coronavirus and the obvious destruction of the United States of America......

I find myself seventy three years old here in Pittsburgh and deeply worried about the present and future of our country.

As the days go by the problems ahead for the nation seem bleaker.

My wife and I are Trump people yet this entire ugly event seems bigger and more evil than even he and his administration can solve.

The quote below sums up the feeling I have about how the American people are being treated. I really cannot see a way out of this. The evil plan to destroy our country seems too big and well planned. I hope I am wrong.

Any thoughts?

******

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. They may be more likely to go to Heaven yet at the same time likelier to make a Hell of earth.”

”This very kindness stings with intolerable insult. To be "cured" against one's will and cured of states which we may not regard as disease is to be put on a level of those who have not yet reached the age of reason or those who never will; to be classed with infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals.”

-- C.S. Lewis

*****

As an aside, one question we might want to ask is, “Are people dying WITH coronavirus, or are people dying FROM coronavirus?

Thanks and best wishes to you and your family. If other countries are a model, hopefully we will be out of this mess by late Spring, with baseball a possibility soon there after. I miss it and all the things I love dearly. Better times ahead, my friend!!

Is Dr. Doom Fauci or Birx?

Well these days it’s either. Barbara was much better before she got a bunch of negative comments for Defending Trump.

” where Dr Doom is basically setting up the extension into May and June.”

The 2002 SARS virus peaked in May and disappeared by June/July 2003. There were very few cases in the U.S.

The Covid-19 virus is a SARS virus, an 86% match with the first one. It’s over 10 times as infectious but about a third as lethal.

The worldwide death total has to be taken with a grain of salt because of China’s self reported 3,200 figure.

China watchers who use indirect methods of calculating what is going on there suspect that their actual total is over 40,000 deaths.

“I still wonder why California’s #’s are so relatively low so far ...... with all the flights coming to and from China for a long time.”

Comparing one country to another, one state to another, or one city to another - is problematic.

I would think metrics such as population density, public transportation patterns, average age, travel behavior and many other characteristics would produce more differences than similarities in person to person physical contact and spreading of a virus. Why do we expect our curve to follow Italy’s curve, or California’s to follow New York’s?

The conversation about this Covid-19 virus is very non-scientific. Junk science on a scale that would make Al Gore proud. Note the similarities between climate change chicken littles and the Covid-19 chicken littles:

With the climate change scare, you have the chicken littles always saying 12 years from now we’ll be under water. But it’s always 12 years from now. Then 12 years later, instead of admitting maybe they were wrong and maybe they have no idea what is going to happen, and no idea what difference (if any) our actions have on the outcome, they just move the goal post out another 12 years and regurgitate their doomsday scenarios and calls to action.

How is this not the same? Apparently, it is over the next two weeks that the shit will hit the fan. But I could swear they already said that a couple times. Two weeks from now, if 200,000 have not died, will they calm down? No, they will say two weeks from the new “now”.

And in three months, if the virus has killed 20,000 instead of 200,000, will they say OK maybe we overreacted? No, they will say “See how effective our preventative actions were?”

Look, I don’t know the future, but neither do they. I don’t appreciate being lied to and restricted “for my own good”, based on junk science.

I don’t blame President Trump one bit for trying to stay ahead of the panic - he has no choice.

But I know the government is designed to overreact, I know the ABCNNBCBS media’s agenda is to discredit President Trump, and I know that the Left is not letting “a crisis go to waste”.

I know that this virus will run its course, and like a cat 5 hurricane, we puny humans will have very little control over - or be responsible for - it’s level of death and destruction.

More than anything, I know that there is a type of personality that simply cannot accept that some events are largely out of our control. They are not comfortable with such a world view. They think it’s up to us to control the climate - not sun spots. They think it’s up to us to set prices and equalize wealth - not the free market. They think everything is their business. They make up pejorative names to mock those of us who disagree - like “flu-bro”, “science denier”, etc..

They are called communists (although they prefer to be called progressives). They can justify killing millions of babies in the womb, while with a straight face pretending they care how many die of a virus.

All they care about is taking control of the means of production - this is just another opportunity to advance that goal.

Bullshit? Well, that's your opinion along with a very passionate FUD-rant/conclusion you supplied is also YOUR opinion. Conspiracy theories based upon circumstantial/coincidental info in fact/hearsay... unsupported rumor or wishful thinking does not make for a sound rational argument/case. Though no one can unequivocally prove/disprove what you claim... it all comes down to just personal conjecture and/or postulating. So, right or wrong... fact or fiction, you are simply guessing.

Flubros blinded by their fear of the truth.???

Again... YOUR opinion.

But, whatever. I gave you my opinion and you are entitled to yours.

I’m so glad you were able to watch it. All 5 (or 6) videos in this series are on youtube. The next episode is Sunday night (I think). I hope to watch all of them, as soon as I can find the time. Yes, he is a very good teacher.

______________

You can comprehend?

Then tell me. What did I say about Pres. Trump bizarrely handling anything?

He has been trying to work around obstructions constantly.

All the bizarreness and destruction is by Congress, CDC, WHO, the MEDIA, various state and local officials, and numerous other influences. I never mentioned DJT.

YOU SIMPLY JUMPED TO CONCLUSIONS.

Donald Trump is working like no other President I have ever observed.

I pray for him.

Comprehend?

Read your own headline

My first post asked if you meant local authorities. You responded with snark

And now more snark

Maybe it’s because you live in NY or NJ or California. Don’t know don’t care

You need to take a few deep breaths and chillax

Go away, Niffie ........ at least 6,000 feet away, please.

Pennsylvania is where I have lived for 73 years, not NY or NJ or California as you remark. You are wrong once again.

Now ....... just end your little tempest.

And in response to your suggestion that I "take a few deep breaths", why don't you just HOLD YOUR BREATH for a few deep minutes.

Bye now.

Just relax. You’re fighting someone who is on your side. There is no reason for any of us to be acting crazy at this time

I wish you God’s peace
