Beef Jerky stays edible for a long, long time!
I think over half the stuff in my freezers expired in 2018 or earlier.
I need a rotation system.
This is not a ‘real’ disaster... It’s a social media generated disaster. Period!
When it’s all said and done this will be seen as the first worldwide insanity response, driven by the internet.
What do poor people in deserts use for tp?
If I have to break open the rice I stored up 13 years ago, I hope I did it in such a way boweavels and maggots don’t come pouring out.
Why not.
It’s a artificial crisis, but nonetheless...
If it’s still frozen, it’s still edible.
Vindicated? Yeah. I haven’t had to change my tagline, although I imagined it would unfold a bit differently than this.
Many of us just believe in stocking up for general reasons. Less store trips, taking advantage of sales, etc. I haven’t broken into the MRE’s yet.
Sweet pickle relish, a -tiny- bit of onion,, and miracle whip. Stir together....

Offer your left hand to a moslem camel jockey. See the look on his face, then you’ll know.
Yeah, I just had two dishes for lunch that expired in 2018. A chicken florentine dish and some butternut squash. Had to rinse the frost build up off of both, but they turned out good.
I did throw out a bag of frozen chicken tenderloins that were badly freezer burnt. But fortunately I had another bag of them. They never put enough meat in those premade dishes.
Put a bay leaf in there.
Not sure how kind it lasts.
Long
Same here - only addl items we bought were a grain mill, dehydrator, wheat berries and a thermal scope.
I could probably last a few months but would lose weight and eat a few things I am not crazy over.
Six months ago, I ordered a case of 24 cans of Spam. I thought I liked it but only ate a couple of cans before getting tired of it. Still it would work as flavoring for beans and rice etc.
What exactly is the “vindication”?
Every store eventually restocked in like a week, and are hiring thousands just to restock.
Restaurants are looking for ways to keep serving food. Not closing because there isnt any.
People should have a pantry and learn to can and grow a garden. That’s not “survivalist” by a long shot.
We aren’t quite there yet...we haven’t had to haul out the artillery so far.
