Yesterday's thread here:
http://freerepublic.com/focus/chat/3829269/posts?page=1
I don’t understand the ‘talking about this makes it worse’ meme.
And amazingly enough, none of them ever reply when i ask them if they think trump is stupid.
We aren’t the ones with TDS.
I think Trump is so desperate to get his precious stock market back up that he is being risky.
This thing should result in all politicians being HUNG.
He will be lucky to escape this. Good thing the other guys have NO ONE.
A lot of Americans are going to be out of work until the supply chain business gets fixed.
Virus or no virus.
We’re thinking of buying a ‘backup’ water heater and washing machine with our plague check. Still cogitating ideas on that one. Given the freezer sellout with no date on restock, we’re thinking about what appliances we ‘need’ that might be dodgy wrt availability for a while if this goes on much longer (china issues)
Is it just me, or are the Flubros just about as hostile and aggressive as they can possibly be?
Dear Flubros,
If you want to go back to work so badly, then go. None of us are stopping you.
Many administrative and support staff took half a day today.
“We arent the ones with TDS.”
Correct.
On the threads in the regular forum the flubros obliquely, and sometimes directly rage against POTUS, as if he is a prisoner to our point of view as lowly posters on FR. While at the same time raging over the conspiracy to “get Trump”.
Completely irrational and completely unaware.
OOp, spoke too soon.
Lowes has updated the availability for chest freezers.
May 10 now.
Let’s see if that date slides any.
Keep your arms crossed like Dr Faustus during the day.
At bedtime, be like our grandmas. Put on hand moisturizer followed by cotton gloves and go to sleep.
Another option is to wear an Elizabethan collar. Works with dogs.
Here.
Did you really think this was going to Fall on us? Every one at once.
You are thinking about this very simplistically. When weeds spread on your lawn, do they appear everywhere at once.
You need to compare where it is to other places where it is.
You have to come up with better stuff than that. You are practically telling everyone you failed high school biology.
Numbers from https://www.worldometers.info. Smaller ratio numbers are better. Data not validated. YMMV for informational interest only. PM me if you would like on or off the ping list.
Daily percentage of new Corona virus deaths to previous day's total by country. 25% = total deaths double every 3 days, 20% = every 4 days, 15% = every 5 days.
thanks for this, but something else is that I don’t trust New York’s numbers. I do extremely large data set analytics in the exabyte range and I would easily toss New York’s numbers because they are so far outside all ranges as to be suspect and untrustworthy.
We have three freezers, but I'd suggested to my sis - who has PLENTY of room for one, to get one.
This was back in early Feb, when I suggested a small chest freezer, to her.
The manner in which you guys argue make me wonder. You compare national, annualized numbers against locallized hot spots that have been infected for three weeks and point at them and say, See I told you!!!!
When in reality you might just as point to the relationship of flu cases and my farts yesterday.
And you think that is a valid, legitimate argument.
And we are morons. Right.
I guess, in their minds, they visualize everyone bustling around like a normal flu season? It just isn't going to be like that. Sure, some will but most thinking people are greatly going to adjust their lives. Lock down or no lock down.
It's would a constant state of panic as clusters are reported in offices, churches, etc.
My office has 1500 people in it as do most of the offices around me. One case, they will close the office, "deep clean" and move to work from home.
I guess, I just don't understand what they visualize. Going back to regular life? I don't see that for a very, very long time barring some sort of breakthrough.
They lock down to continue continuity. My guess is the people going in there were isolated for a time before, and have all been tested.
This way they know the control of stuff will continue to be staffed by people not infected.
Sounds reasonable to me.
Were Italy in 2 wks. Period.
The fact is that the US is on a worse trajectory than Italy, barring interventions:
US (yesterday) 121,099 cases, 2,038 deaths
Italy (2 weeks ago) 24,747 cases, 1809 deaths
