There is an article in the Financial Times saying that a medical researcher/statistician at Oxford believes that half of the UK's population has already had the virus. Several people disagreed with his study, but it is intriguing.
I suspect that I and several members of my family may have had the Wuhan virus in February. We assumed we had the flu, but the symptoms were not like typical flu symptoms. The cough was the worst.
If you think you may have had the virus, but didn't realize it at the time, please comment about your experience. Some think this virus was circulating in the US as early as last October.
If a whole bunch of people already had this virus and recovered, perhaps we can get back to normal much sooner than we thought.

Just checked Kaisers web site I had my Flu shot on 10/31/2019..have not gotten sick thank goodness and Im in LA County and I basically get sick from anyone who breathes within 6 feet of me
It hasn’t been debunked or confirmed.
We don’t have serological testing yet.
Im A Positive
Keep in mind the population makeup there and the filthy sanitation, add to that that hospitals and health care personnel are the biggest spreaders of the disease.
Read the study and you might understand.
We have death rates to look at.
And timelines of serious infections based on the hospital admissions.
VERY unlikely that WuHuFlu significantly mutated between January and now.
Take an antibody test.
None of the reports I read mentioned either differentiator. The doctors simply said people with Type O appear to have a resistance to this virus.
Had the WuHuFlu been in NYC in a wide spread infection in January, how would today’s out of control counts be less than otherwise?
It actually may be a very high priority to test and find people who had the virus and recovered. One of the treatments being worked on involves getting the antibodies to the virus from the plasma of those who ‘s immune systems have already fought off the Coronavirus. I believe that is one of the treatments they are starting to use in New York.

Same time as I. I’m 58 and a public school teacher for 37 years. Never miss. Never get a flu shot. It started with an odd cough and fever of 103. Back pain (lungs) and the nasty diarrhea. I missed 2 weeks of school. Doc wanted to put me on a zpak, but I can’t take it. I took docycline. It knocked me down and worried my husband. He still speaks of it.
I developed a sore throat on Dec. 11. It got worse, but was then overtaken by extreme fatigue and a dry cough. That cough was the worst cough I’ve ever had. I had spells that by the end of the episode I was throwing up. This lasted until around Jan. 15 - 20.
I left the US early in October, traveled through Hong Kong and arrived in Sentani, Papua, Indonesia on October 4.
I don’t know if what I had was Covid, but I’m not sure what it was.
Sounds like the doctor got the better end of the deal. Like being fired from the Titanic the day before it sailed.
In January I had the worst cough I’ve ever had. I remember thinking, “is this turning into pneumonia? if this gets any worse I’m going to have to go to hospital.”. I’ve had plenty of colds/flu/coughs but never feared about breathing - I noted it was getting harder.
I had it for about a week. I does make me wonder.
I think I may have had it. The shortness of breath was like nothing I have ever had and I experienced pneumonia in the early ‘80’s. And the coughing was non-stop. I was like this for over 2 weeks. Fever...slight, appetite was not too great either.
I truly believed it had came and went in most areas.
Yes, I suspect many have been exposed. I did travel to Europe end of February, symptoms started five days after I got back— fever, sore throat day one followed for over two weeks of respiratory symptoms and fatigue. Not terrible, just deep dry cough, very tight chest, bronchitis, a little pain if I breathed in hard or did anything strenuous at the worst point (about 5 days ago). The fatigue was like nothing I’ve experienced, I never need sleep, but I was sleeping 18 hours or more on my days off, but never had a fever after day 2. The weird thing is many others I know had identical symptoms that started even before I got back from my trip, so we assumed it was all the same illness going around. A couple of us tried to get tested, but didn’t meet criteria. But then, another with the same symptoms who was at high risk did manage to get tested and tested positive, so all of us in the building were told to self-isolate. None of us (except the one) are in the official count, but I bet 40% of the folks in my building had the mystery illness which we now suspect was COVID. Several did get tested for flu, but came back negative. At least one did test positive for strep. I would say after nearly three weeks since initial symptoms, I’m still not at 100%, breathing still feels strained and chest a bit tight, but I’m definitely past the worst part and not sleeping all day anymore.
Second week of January-
I had the flu, and the cold nearly at the same time.
Supposedly you can’t have both the cold and the flu at the same time, as the antibodies that are generated by one inhibit the other.
lots of other people had this same bug about the same time.
FWIW, I’m O neg.
For the first time I did this flu shot and early nov. I feel good!
Aria's bacterial pneumonia shot may have put the kibosh on that for her.
