they cant even get masks..there cant be that many of those things in a hospital.
An old friend just passed from complications of the flu. Tested negative on CV. How accurate are the CV tests?
here they are ..i suspect if I could actually see availability it would be out
I cant imagine these are still in stock for hospitals

How long between testing and death?
Patient 0 in Washington tested negative when he first was there. They thought he was shedding at that time.
As per New England Journal of Medicine Article I posted long ago.
UK
Boris Johnson revealed he had tested positive for the disease after developing a temperature and persistent cough.
Shortly afterwards, Health Secretary Matt Hancock confirmed that he too had been diagnosed with the virus and was working from home.
Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty, who advised the PM to take a test after examining him on Thursday afternoon, then revealed he was self-isolating after developing symptoms.
The triple blow came as the NHS braced itself for an onslaught from the virus in the coming days.
14,569 cases, 759 deaths, 6200 hospitalized
It,probably depends on the hospital. Some did a better job of preparing than others.
His sister in law has it too
Awful headline - the virus is not alive.
And the article says nothing about how long COVID-19 is infective in blood. That would seem to be a pretty important thing to know.
Sloppy journalism.
That is exactly the mistake climate folks make. You cant extrapolate. As soon as the curve breaks its a different equation, a different model. You can only use interpolation equations safely within the data set. As soon as you go beyond what you know historically, it will diverge, unless you have a full cycle of data. You dont have a full cycle for this virus and this population set. No one does. You think you have a good model because excel can fit a set of data to a curve? That is just incorrect.
The only thing I can give you is that there is a good chance that tomorrow will be close to today. But your second order fit only goes one direction - up. You will need a much more complex equation, probably something that includes sinusoidal terms as well as a polynomial, to fit to to all the data once this thing has actually gone full cycle. Then you have a model that might represent the future, assuming nothing changes. But things always change. So its still best guess.
so if any of you are in the biz..that fisher scientific may have items in stocks as it relates to hoods and so forth. Some items they mark as clearly out of stock and not available..but others you might be able to get.
PAPR: Powered Air Purifying Respirators
They do not have their own air supply (say from a tank) - but they run the room air through a filter using a pump from the back. The pump helps to create a positive pressure inside the hood to keep the virus from getting into the hood, but it isn’t a true pressurized system. The filters are much better than the N95 masks. You can use different types of filters, not sure how small of a particle they go down to.
I’m guessing that the pump and noise air is part of the problem with being able to hear. I’m hoping that they have teams of folks that have worked together for awhile and know their stuff. I used to work for two carpenters - they would work together and could go an entire day practically without saying a word to each other!

Thanks for the explanation
Because Italy’s, and now Spain’s, HCSs are failing.
Im curious how accurate the CV tests are? The false negative.
He passed away this week.
