Imagine if the death rate falls below the flu?

Regardless the outcome, Trump’s fault

>>>Do the asshats in DC truly believe that a gubmint check for $1200 every month is going to keep them afloat?<<<

Every Month? I thought it was a one time deal until they Pass another ridiculous Bill.

Heck, I can’t even go the Casino to so I can turn that $1,200 into some real Money.

Mendelsohn was a doctor who was skeptical of many if not most of the common practices of the medical establishment. He wrote a series of books in the late 70’s/early 80’s which you can find out there if you really want to know.

He had this hilarious delivery like a Borscht Belt comic.
(”Why on earth would you ever go to the hospital? They’ve got germs floating around in there that you can’t find anywhere else in town!). He claimed that many of his colleagues secretly agreed with him on various issues but chastised him for taking them to the general public.

“Bob, you’re right about that, but did you have to go public? Why don’t you just publish it in the medical journals?”

Answer: Because nobody READS medical journals.

I suspect that’s some of what Fauci is doing here, burying his admission in a forum where few will see it. Guess that backfired.

“This article would have been much more helpful 2 or 3 wks ago than today. Before the panic set in.”

Sadly, the people who give talking points to Fauci were invested in prolonging the panic. He knew; he just didn’t share the information.

Yes, it might be equivalent to a bad flu if you are younger than 60.

Hmmm. I just assumed it was $1200 per monthz, but if not, they are dumber than I thought if they expect a one time payment of $1200 will get people through this “shut-down” because according to our brilliant mayor in Los Angeles this shut down will last for MONTHS.

Waiting for the riots to begin and hopefully looking forward to seeing asshat politicians like the LA mayor being hung by his feet from street lights when this farce is over and done.

Don’t forget that the Bill includes money to “enhance” Unemployment Benefits so People receive their full Salary.

When that kicks in why would People rush back to work? What about all the Small Business Owners who can’t apply for Unemployment while watching their Life’s work collapse?

This article would have been much more helpful 2 or 3 wks ago than today. Before the panic set in.
+++++
This is very much a regional outbreak. In New York there were more than 6000 NEW CASES YESTERDAY. In California the total caseload is about 3000. The total number of cases in Orange County CA is under 300.

The current New York caseload is over 37,000 and is doubling every 3 to 4 days.

If I lived in New York, and particularly NYC, panic would be quite an appropriate emotion. Those people are really going to be suffering this week and next. After that - who knows.

Looks to me like the article was published on February 28. In fact, according to the disclosure form, Fauci submitted it to the Journal on February 16.

BTW, here's the money passage:

On the basis of a case definition requiring a diagnosis of pneumonia, the currently reported case fatality rate is approximately 2%.4 In another article in the Journal, Guan et al.5 report mortality of 1.4% among 1099 patients with laboratory-confirmed Covid-19; these patients had a wide spectrum of disease severity. If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. This suggests that the overall clinical consequences of Covid-19 may ultimately be more akin to those of a severe seasonal influenza (which has a case fatality rate of approximately 0.1%) or a pandemic influenza (similar to those in 1957 and 1968) rather than a disease similar to SARS or MERS, which have had case fatality rates of 9 to 10% and 36%, respectively.

You don’t know how bamboozled we’ve been until you do a search for Fauci, Event 201 and Bill Gates for their mRNA-1273 vaccine. Follow the money and you’ll see why they oppose the hydroxycholoquine treatment.

With this, that is ancient history. At that time the disease was mostly isolated to China, and figures on ratios of unknown cases weren’t yet available so people were pretty completely guessing.

“If one assumes that the number of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic cases is several times as high as the number of reported cases, the case fatality rate may be considerably less than 1%. “

“If one assumes...”
“If one assumes...”
“If one assumes...”

If one assumes things since proven to be wrong, yes, alternate conclusions are available.

So he didn’t actually say the fatality rate is like the flu, but merely posited that the unknowns of the time included that possibility - which we appear to have moved well beyond.

We've been bamboozled.

“Oh, I say and I say it again. You’ve been had! Ya been took! Ya been hoodwinked! Bamboozled! Led astray! Run amok! This is what he does!”

This is outdated information.

Dr. Fouci initially was saying it was like a bad flu, then he changed to saying it was 10 times more lethal than the flu.

"This editorial was published on February 28, 2020, at NEJM.org."

On Mar 11, Dr. Fouci said it was 10 times worse than the flu. So your information is outdated

Coronavirus 10 times more lethal than flu

Yes. If you make unwarranted assumptions, you can reach unwarranted conclusions. That’s not really a surprise.

Is there another quotation that you’ve found in there where he provides actual Wuhan Coronavirus-linked evidence for such an assumption? This one sure didn’t.

Published 02/28/2020.
How long did it take to research and source this document?
The latest and most of the sources are from WHO and are dated as late as 02/26/2020.

The words “It suggests” are used to indicate the data shows it could be more like a flu outbreak.

So with that said, as of today 03/27/2020, has the data changed that would change the opinion that it’s more like a flu outbreak?

Will any MSM ask him about it?
And will Dr. Fauci admit this on national T.V.?

and for the record, I happen to believe I should be, with caution, up and about and around with no restrictions - playing golf.
