A video from a reporter in Montana has gone viral after the reporter spots a herd of bison coming toward him while setting up for his shot.

“Three, two, oh my god. I ain’t messing with you. Oh no. I’m not messing with you,” Deion Broxton says.

Deion Broxton KTVM ✔ @DeionNBCMT There was a herd of bison walking right toward me at @YellowstoneNPS today!

Embedded video 364K 1:25 PM - Mar 25, 2020

Broxton was doing a story at Yellowstone Park when he spotted the bison. He then packed up and got out of there. Then once he was at a safe distance away, Broxton took video of the bison.

This video has been seen more than 5 million times.

Yellowstone actually responded to his video commending his "social distancing" and called it “a perfect example of what to do when approached by wildlife.”

At least he won’t be a Darwin Award candidate.

Who knew anybody at NBC has any sense?

If you haven’t seen one up close, they’re BIG. Clydesdale with horns BIG. Would not want to be surrounded by a herd of them either.

We followed one on the road out of Livingston into Yellowstone. I got a chance to pass it, then went up the road into a turnout and waited to get a picture as it came past my parked car. The bison came into the turnout just like I did, walked slowly past my car, then went back out to the road, looked both ways, and started back down the road. It was so close to my car, my wife could have rolled down the window and petted it. Glad she didn’t.

He reminds me of a young Eddie Murphy on SNL.
The back and forth eye movement and sudden flight.

Good buddy of mine almost met his demise with one near Salt Lake City about 15 years ago. We’ve discussed it here in the past. They CAN kill you.

The second most dangerous animal in north America is the bison; bears are number one in number of people killed an injured. Anyone who doesn’t take bison seriously is a moron.

Better part of valor award! Bison can be surprisingly aggressive and due to their size, pretty hazardous.
