Wow! That sounds like our itinerary! Good ideas. Aside from viruses, I have a bum knee that needs replacing. My goal is to be able to do a lot of walking tours.

Be sure to pack a good knee brace for your cruise.

There are some walking tours around St Johns. What will be the status of your knee then?

For Halifax we got a private tour guide with a fan for six of us. He showed us all around Halifax (he’s born in and lives in the area) and out to Peggy’s Cove and back, then a tour of the cemetery with the largest group of graves from the folks retrieved from the Titanic and then we had time in town not far from the ship before time to reboard. Getting a local who knows Halifax and knows the history was well worth it.

If I did that trip again, I’d try to arrange to split my cruise up - getting off at Halifax and staying there awhile and then make the return trip when another cruise was heading back to New York. Halifax is a gorgeous area - to me really represents what I think of when I think of Canada.
