Stuck at home? Bored? Try one of these projects
vanity | 03-26-2020 | OrangeHoof

If we're honest with ourselves, there are some things around the house we know we ought to do but we tell ourselves we never have the time.

While many of us are under stay-at-home orders, now is the time to handle projects to fight boredom that might have always been put off until "someday when I have the time".

Don't come out of this forced staycation wishing you had done some of these because you'll probably never have a better time to do them:

I made and painted a Blue Bird house yesterday and just got finished putting it up.

After lunch, change oil and filter in the John Deer X-500. Change oil and spark plug in 22” rear wheel drive lawnmower, new plug the weed eater and tiller.

After that, I’ll be waiting on instructions from the wife.

On second thought, I’m going to stay a safe distance from the wife so I won’t hear her instructions.

I have a few projects I could use help on if you get too bored. I am installing a new septic system for the neighbor lady. The chicken house needs scooped out too. Dogs need a bath and so will I after I get the septic tank installed.

We're fixing up the previously unused chicken coop, and already have a brood going inside.

Also, building raised bed garden.

Pantry sorted and organized, excess to charity.

So far I’ve cleaned most of my fridge. Thinking about making couch potato shirts for my family and binge watching hallmark movies and “24” shows. To get away from everyone I’m going to use my treadmill a elliptical and watch more hallmark movies.

I was so excited. I got to get dressed up to take my husbands fat cat Hotrod to the vet. I got to talk with 6 people who didn’t ask me to do anything for them.

Smart move! I have tons of stuff to work on but messed up my back last weekend doing some of it, so taking it easy for a few days.

Sounds like fun. I wouldn’t worry about the stuff from Japan, they’ve got things pretty well under control there.

As for the geep, sounds nice. Hope you got an Atlas or Kato. For N scale, I think I’m happiest with my Kato locos. They make good stuff, especially the 2-8-2’s.

I work F&C at road races.

"F&C"?

Not familiar with that term, who knows, I might have done it?.

I do ham radio communications and vehicle extraction at stage rallies, and ham radio at rally sprints.

A few weeks ago did checkpoints at a navigation rally for the first time.

Many years ago did autocross in a z40Z

For the comms and extraction, I have 2 Unimogs, U404 and U1300L and an Excursion (V10)

The loco I bought was manufactured by Atlas. I already had (and still have) a GP20 made by Life-Like, but I am planning a protolance layout on the Southern Pacific (the GP20 is in UP colors).

And I HAD to have this particular GP9, because it’s in SP Black Widow paint. :)

Oh, and as for the Unitrack I have coming from Japan, my only real concern about that is I won’t have it until some time in April.

I’ve been giving serious thought to doing 6 of those items, but have yet to get started on any of them. Maybe tomorrow.

Popcorn ceiling....
I hope your doing it the right way. The older stuff was high in asbestos. So get it nice and wet and it will come right off. Use a resporator. And be careful of dust lingering around. Have fun.
