CRUISE SHIP - GRAND PRINCESS

Coronavirus Pandemic: Two Grand Princess Passengers Die From Coronavirus

Few other details about the deaths were released to the paper, but federal authorities did say one died on March 21 and the other passed away on March 23. The hospitals where the deaths occurred were not released.

***Many of the Grand Princess passengers refused to be tested while in quarantine**** at four military bases across the United States. Federal officials told USA Today that of the 1,103 passengers who did undergoing testing, 103 tested positive for the virus.

“There may be a shortage of drugs because like equipment, masks, gowns, and everything else we need but don’t have, they were made in China.”

Most likely, and they sure as heck won’t admit anything as the drugs run out. Amazing, but we probably had more drugs available in 1919 to fight that outbreak, than we’ll have for this one.

What is most stunning about this ship is how many cases are still unresolved after all this time!

I am just thankful to the Lord that “only” 14% of people are getting it that bad in the US. I can only hope that if I get it that bad, I either get the HCQ + Z-pac treatment or die quickly.

“As for outdoor exercise, people certainly need to get out, but do this in your own immediate neighborhoods,” Morrow said. “Do not drive except to provide or obtain an essential service. Do not go into other neighborhoods for recreation. This increases the risk of virus spread.”

How does going into other neighborhoods for recreation increase the risk of virus spread if you practice social distancing?

And why the caution to do not drive except to provide or obtain an essential service?

The US will have the most reported cases in the world when it reaches the 100,000 mark.

LOUISIANA

New Orleans emerges as next coronavirus epicenter, threatening rest of South

...The growth rate in Louisiana tops all others, according to a University of Louisiana at Lafayette analysis of global data, with the number of cases rising by 30% in the 24 hours before noon on Wednesday. On Tuesday, U.S. President Donald Trump issued a major federal disaster declaration for the state, freeing federal funds and resources.
Some 70% of Louisiana’s 1,795 confirmed cases to date are in the New Orleans metro area.

To: All

I had a procedure coming up and had been trying to contact the doctors’ office regarding rescheduling. I had left 2 messages on their answering service. They happened to call today to reschedule my wife’s appointment with them and I was able to jump on the end of her call to handle my own appointment.

They are cancelling all voluntary procedures as they are gearing up for CCP-19 overflow from other areas. This is in a fairly quiet part of the state (NH) not near any big cities (45 minute drive to Nashua). The local hospital is smallish and the people that live around here are largely older wealthy liberals with lots of liberal privilege. Our HCS is clearly gearing up for major amounts of CCP-19 cases even in out-of-the-way locations. I can only assume this is nation wide.

Got some more gas for the generator and topped off the car. Gas is still over $2 here. Drove by the gun shop and they had a sign out “we have plenty of hand guns left”. All three of the shops were open but only one looked busy. Saw more people out locally than I expected, but few overall. Many, many out of state plates from all over the place, not just the usual mostly MA and VT people. Driving and parking skills seem to have degraded sharply.

Lots of signs saying “we’re hiring”, “closed until further notice”, “take out and delivery service”, “temporarily closed” and so forth. Parking lots at the big stores seemed half full or less. Many locations in the various malls I passed appeared closed, unusual for middle of the day, middle of the week.

Traffic was not heavy, even when it got close to rush hour. More semis than usual, but not tons. maybe I just noticed because of the lack of other traffic.

Heard them asking on the radio for volunteers - medically trained, retirees (that seems like a bad idea given the nature of this disease) and explicitly IT people (maybe I can do that). They were also asking people to donate blood.

Coming up: “Island containment”.

All we need is more testing. Almost.

“Common are fever, headache, dry cough, myalgias(back pain), nausea without vomiting, abdominal discomfort with some diarrhea, loss of smell, anorexia, fatigue.”

LOL, well, I’m screwed because my normal condition is headache, myalgias(back pain), fatigue and sometimes a dry cough from my Lisinopril.

I guess I’ll have to watch extra carefully for the others.

A friend of mine had told me, last week, when we talked...that she was to go in for an elective procedure.

I told her, No...I don’t think you will.

She thought I was kidding, and, said, Yeah, maybe I shouldn’t.

I said, NO, it won’t happen. They’ll cancel....no one is doing electives, right now.

She called me back, at the end of the day and said that the clinic had called to cancel.

It tickled me that 2 days all the meds were saying “Oh no! We can’t open!”
Now they’re saying how we could.

Love Trump.

Nope, they won't admit to any shortages of medicine. But a person can read between the lines, especially with nurses wearing trash bags and doctors working without masks.
