HIPPA actually allows access to Medical Records for legit research. When I was a Resident I could give a list to Medical Records (pre computer, obviously) and they would pull every chart I asked for. If you have legit access you can look at anything in the system. But they do monitor it and if they catch you in a record you got no business in, big trouble. As in fired on the spot.
I had a Med Records tech once when I was a Clinic OIC who perused the records of girls he wanted to date to see if they had STDs. He got caught and Article 15d right the hell out. We had a woman pick up her husbands records and while she waiting she decided to have a look. When she saw he had been treated for Gonorrhea she hit the damn roof. What a mess that was. We had one case where the woman didnt want to tell her mom she was pregnant yet. You can guess the rest.
Why not? I did!

WILLOWBROOK, Ill. (WLS) — Illinois health officials announced the number of coronavirus cases in the state has reached 1,865, with 19 deaths.
The Illinois Department of Public Health announced 330 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, including three deaths.
The deaths were identified as a Kane County man in his 90s, a Cook County man in his 60s, and a Will County woman in her 50s.
There are now three new Illinois counties reporting COVID-19 cases: Douglas, Marshall and Morgan.
Patients range in age from younger than one to 99.
Of the 330 new cases, Illinois health officials said two correctional officers and an inmate at Stateville Correctional Center in Lockport Township have tested positive for COVID-19.

Coronavirus: feverish Borrelli. Seven more doctors died
The balance of doctors who died from the Covid-19 epidemic continues to rise. Today in Italy, according to what the National Federation of Medical Orders says, there are five more deaths. This is Calogero Giabbarrasi, Caltanissetta’s family doctor; Renzo Granata, family doctor from Alessandria; Ivan Mauri, also a family doctor, from Lecco, Ivano Garzena, dentist from Turin, and Vincenza Amato, head of Hygiene and Healthcare at the Health Prevention Department in Bergamo; two dentists from Brescia also died: Gabriele Lombardi and Mario Calonghi.
Garzena was the first deceased dentist for Covid and was 49 years old. The total thus rises to 33 deaths since the beginning of the epidemic. However, it is the family doctors who are most exposed to the risk of contagion: the data of the trade association reveal that 50% of the deceased were a general practitioner.
Meanwhile this morning the Head of the Department of Civil Protection, Angelo Borrelli, has accused feverish symptoms and, as a precaution, has left the headquarters of the Department. Due to this slight indisposition, the Civil Protection, first suspended and then confirmed the daily press conference on the Coronavirus emergency of 18 hours is suspended.
WOW: NY Gov Cuomo updated an executive order Monday to block pharmacists from filling prescriptions for the drug hydroxychloroquine for any uses not approved by the FDA.
That means this NY doctor who successfully treated 350 patients w/ COVID19 can no longer prescribe the drug. https://t.co/74gHjPo3wy— Michael Coudrey (@MichaelCoudrey) March 25, 2020
ITALY
Coronavirus in Italy, 74,386 total cases and 7,503 deaths.
In Italy, since the beginning of the Coronavirus epidemic, 74,386 people have contracted the Sars-CoV-2 virus (5,210 more people than yesterday). Of these, 7,503 died (+683: a slightly lower increase than yesterday, when it had been +743) and 9,362 recovered (+1,036: an increase greater than that recorded yesterday, when they had been +894). Currently the positive subjects are 57.521 (yesterday they were 54.030; the count rises to 74.386 - as mentioned above - if in the calculation there are also the dead and the cured, ie counting all the people who have been found positive to the virus since the beginning of the epidemic ). The data were provided by the Civil Protection.
“I understand that is the reason for the low transmission in South Korea and Japan, people go in public wearing masks.”
Yep, it makes a HUGE DIFFERENCE between having a nearly linear rate of growth, versus exponential. But the CDC can’t admit that we have none, because they figured only those ‘silly Asians’ have a ‘need’ to wear masks.
MA
Health officials: 679 new COVID-19 cases in Mass., total rises to 1,838 with 15 coronavirus-related deaths
Brynne Connolly
BOSTON (WHDH) - There are now 1,838 confirmed coronavirus cases in Massachusetts, up from 1,159 cases on Tuesday, health officials announced Wednesday. 15 deaths have been reported.
The cases involve 933 men and 903 women. 103 of the patients have been hospitalized, 350 not hospitalized and 1385 are under investigation.
No kidding. Is Elton going to call on ALL of his rich/famous friends to do the donating...since the little peeps have no income?
The FDA has approved the use for Covid 19
More info on Madrid:
They are creating the largest hospital in the world in a convention center.
This is one aspect of the FluBros that I agree with. Some of the idiotic Rat governors want this to spread to hurt Trump, at least that is how it appears.
Cuomo should know better, but Schumer probably had a talk with him.
KS
Kansas now has 126 positive cases of COVID-19 in the state, an increase of 28 from Tuesday, Kansas Department of Health and Environment Secretary Dr. Lee Norman said at a news conference

Hmmmm.....either you're hospitalized, or you're not. What does 'under investigation' mean?
“Not really the CDCs purview to take care of masks.”
Oh well, I’m still pissed at them, so CDC (and WHO) are my first two targets.
As far as telling hospitals to be stocked up...whoever directed that was a TOTAL IDIOT (or didn’t know that hospitals are businesses that exist to make money and will not stock dead inventory unless required to under penalty of imprisonment).
As to the states, same thing - how many votes is a warehouse full of masks going to get politicians? And it should have been understood that the need was FAR BEYOND the capability of people at the state level to even comprehend.
Chris Martenson has been showing an amazing graph comparing “mask” countries with “no mask” countries.
The “mask” countries have linear rates of virus spread.
The “no mask” countries have exponential rates of virus spread.
Until we have masks available for everyone, and mandatory for everyone in stores and business, we are in deep deep trouble.
